That night Tara laid in bed, kazoo in her teeth, humming out an improvisation of her song. It went:

ZOOPZOSIWJZOOOOOO

Her hums sounded angry. She didn't know she could hum angrily. She was mad at Peter. How dare Peter flirt with her? Why did they need another kazoo? Oh my, she blushed, didn't she? When he flirted? Was she in love?

"What are you doing?" It was her brother, Terry.

"OMG Terry, get out!"

"Ooh Tara is doing inappropriate stuff! I bet she's thinking about Peter!"

"Shut up! How do you know about him?"

"Everyone in the school knows!" Terry shrieked. "Tara and Peter sitting in a tree-"

"Go away Terry!" Tara growled, throwing a chair at him. She went back to playing her kazoo.

ZOO ZOO ZOO
ZOOO ZOOO ZOOOOO

and then fell asleep.

When she woke up, she wasn't in her bed anymore. She was in Peter's. She could smell the fresh plastic taste of his breath from all that kazoo playing and hear his husky voice. He was above her, and with his teeth pulled the kazoo out of her mouth.

"OMG, Peter, what are you doing?"

"I'm gonna blow you like a kazoo," hissed Peter.

"Like... like..." Tara couldn't say the word. "Like the s thing?"

"Yes, the S thing." Sultry kazoo music played in the room as Peter leaned closer and—

Tara woke up, sweaty. "Wow!" she gasped. "What a weird dream!"
