I was faintly awake. I saw my ceiling. I rolled left and tried to fall back asleep. I almost fell out of bed! So I rolled the other way.
A sharp pain shot threw my arm. “Ah! Shoulder!” I sat up and clutched my shoulder in pain. I know I didn't just lay on it. There was something hard under my arm. I dug under my covers and found what had poked me.
The Pergate. I looked at it and my head started to hurt! What was that that hit me last night? I set The Pergate on the other side of the bed on the nightstand and layed back down and scooched for the right wall. Something else was wadded in the blinkents. something big! I undid the blankets and she rolled over.
It was Dot.
She stretched and looked at me with her starry sparkle eyes.
“Dot?”
She smiled and kissed my nose.
“I knew you were ok!” I hugged her and she wrapped me in her arms too. I almost started crying. “I love you.”
Dot made a heart with her hands and held up two fingers.
“Are you ok?” I asked
Dot pointed to her throat and opened her mouth. She moved her hand like she was zipping her lips.
“Did you take some kind of vow of silence?”
Dot shook her hand no.
“You mad at me?!?!”
Dot crossed her arms and looked at me with that kind of ‘Relay?’look.
Dot put her mouth in her sleeve and pretended to cough, then drew an ‘X’ on her neck.
“Oh! You can't take after what happened!”
Dot pulled me and and kissed me. I couldn't believe it, Dot was alive! She lost her voice but she’s still alive! I looked over to the nightstand and saw The Pergite. I pushed it off the nightstand and looked back at Dot.
Dot got up and grabbed the wooden box. Did I mention she was in a tight shirt and short shorts? No? Well she is, and it drives me crazy. Don't worry tho, I'll keep it in my pants.
Dot held up the box and pointed to her neck.
“How do u even know what that is?”
Dot pointed over to the kition.
At my table sat Madam Kindrie. She was sipping tea from a small cup she poured from her porcelain tea pot.
“Kindrie!?!?”
“Thats Madam Kindrie to you, boy!” She snapped back.
“What are you doing here?”
“I needed to tell you about Dot here.” She pointed to dot and had an upset look on her face.
“What is it?”
“I saved her soul from death.” She looked serious but still sipped her tea. “But I couldn't save her voice. Thats your job. You must find the last four shards and then you will need to use the seven daggers to activate The Pergate.”
Dot nodded.
“Show him dearly.” She said cheerfully to dot.
Dot touched my forehead. It hurt from last nights bump but then it stopped. My eyes started to bug out. I could see gold and light coming from Madam Kindrie, Dot, and The Pergate.
“Oculus.” Madam Kindrie said. “It means sight or eye in latin. Yo can now see things to help you in your quest for young Dot’s fate.” Madam Kindrie looked over to the door. “Its in your best interest if dot where to stay here. Death will be looking for her”
