One Shots: Book Two

"Serving Looks is what I do, honey."

Tonight,Kevin Keller found himself in the Jones' living room to babysit his God children. Eden Elizabeth Jones was their first born. She is now twelve. Then they have Jude Pendleton Jones who is seven. Eden has her mother's face and her father's dark locks. Whereas, Jude is all Jug in the face with Betty's honey colored hair.

"Okay, Kev. We will be back around 10:30. Jude needs to be asleep at 9, at the latest. There is pizza money on the kitchen counter. Have a great night and be safe!" My best friend says while she gets her purse off of the table it sits on.

"Will do, B! Uncle Kev is on the job!" I say to them as they wave and head out of the door. The front door is not even closed for a minute before I hear "Jude! Get back here! Don't make me do something I will regret!" Then I hear two sets of foot steps charging down the stairs.

"Uncle Kev! Tell Jude to give me back my cell phone!" Eden orders.
"Why did you take it in the first place, Jude?"
"I was trying to talk to her and she wasn't paying attention, so I figured I would see what was so important. She was texting Spencer." Jude explains. I raise an eyebrow at Eden, my hands on my hips. "What?" She snarls, looking a lot like her dad. Confidently, my look gets more parent like. "Why are you looking at new like that? I didn't do anything wrong!"
"Maybe I want to kiss you too-"
"Jude, you little shit! Stop!"
"Eden Elizabeth Jones!" I start to shut them up. "Phone now! And go to your room!" I demand. With a huff, she passes her phone over.
"You know your looks do enough." She mutters as she stomps up the steps.

Time pass: 10:30 pm

"Thanks again, Kev! How were they?"
"The typical. No problem. Serving looks is what I do, honey."
Betty then gives me her famous 'explain' expression.
"You officially have a pre-teen pain in the ass. Enjoy!" I say as I pass Eden's phone to Betty with the messages pulled up.
