I woke up and yawned. I went to the cafeteria and ate my breakfast. I was quiet and I didn't speak. "Hey!" I heard Alexander say, I look up from my food and look at him. He smiled brightly, he was like a child that got a new toy for Christmas. I cracked a smile and muttered an "hey" And went back to eating. "What's wrong?" He asked. "Nothing" I said as I ate. "Miss your family?" He asked. I paused. How... How did he know? I nodded, "very much" I said as I continued eating. "Me too. " He said. I look at him and he was so sad. "Sorry for making you sad" I said "what? Oh no your fine! And I'm fine too!" He said with his cliche smile. I smiled back. "How is your day?" I asked him. "It was fine, but better now because your here!" He said with his bright smile. I blushed a little and smiled more. "You always brighten up my day. " I said. "Huh?" He said clueless. "Your just... So cute." I said with a bit of blush creeping on my face. "Cute?" He said with his face like a red crayon. I laughed. "Sorry if made you uncomfortable but it must've been said" I said with a smile. He smiled back and said "You too! "

Me and Alex talked until he brought up the winters ball. "The... Winters ball?" I said. "Yeah! The Schuyler Sisters through a ball every year to celebrate!" Alexander said. "Celebrate what?" I asked. "I dunno" He said with a shrug. "Are you going?" I asked him. "Of course! Only... If your going" He said. "Sure" I said as I drank some milk. "Alright! " He said with a bright smile.

After breakfast, we had training. Washington himself told us what to do. He gave us guns and gave us a target (which was a piece of paper with a target board on it). I was at the end so he stood next to me, made me a little uncomfortable but I shrugged it off. "Everyone, get ready. Fire!" He said and then the battle field was filled with gunshots.   People were pretty good at shooting, while there was me not knowing how to hold the gun. I shot at the target and it failed. I did it again and it failed. I sighed and kept on trying. "Here" Washington said as he helped me hold the gun, he put his hands on mine and put my hands where they needed to be His hands were so cold. He aimed at the target and whispered "fire". My heart raced and my face blushed. I pulled the trigger and I got it perfectly. "There we are" He said as he let go of my hands. "T.. Thank you" I said. "Hey good job!" Alex said. "Thanks" I said as my voice broke. We kept practicing until night fell.

Me, Hercules, John, Lafayette, and Alexander huddled around a campfire and told funny stories. We talked about different things, but the thing that kept on coming up in conversation was the winters ball that was hosted by the Schuyler sisters. "I wonder what kind of dress I'll wear" I said out loud. "Oh right your a girl" Lafayette joked. The boys laughed as I sat there in aw. "you are so rude!" I said like i was mad, but I wasn't. I slapped his arm jokingly and he laugh "owwwwwww" He said with a chuckle. The boys laughed more as I looked at him with a mad look. Soon I laughed too. We told more jokes until it was time to go to bed. Everyone went to tent, the only ones left was me and Alexander.

We talked and talked until we got tired. "I'm beat. I'ma go to bed" I said as I yawned. "Oh. Okay!" He said with his cliche smile. "Goodnight!" He said "goodnight" I said with a smile. I went to my tent and laid down. All I could think about was his cliche smile.
