Chapter Four: Homecoming.
He leant forward, placed one hand around the person's waist and the other upon their belly. His arm around the person's back supported their weight as Jack dipped them slightly and he kissed the imposter passionately. After the long kiss, a good kiss, Jack ran out of breath and pulled away and leant his forehead onto there's.
"So that's what that's like." Jack said playfully with a smile on his face. Other Jack was smiling but with eyes shut, enjoying the aftermath of the kiss.
"Hello, Soph." Jack said, happy to be with his beloved once again.
"Hello, Jack." Sophie said smiling up at her husband. "Are you impressed? I think I almost killed you once or twice there?" Sophie said with a smile on her face and playfulness in her voice.
"I'm touched at this, sincerest form of flattery, but you'd never have done it." Jack replied as he gently pulled off her fake beard.
"And why's that Mr. Sparrow?" Sophie questioned in a hash manner, anyone from her crew could be watching she thought as she pulled off her moustache. Jack noticed her voice change and used his sword to pull off her hat.
"Because you love me too much. But I must ask, why?" Jack said as he still had his hand on Sophie's very pregnant belly.
"That's true, I did." Sophie answered honestly as she placed her hand delicately over Jacks and pushed his hand off her stomach.
"You were the only pirate I could pass for." Sophie replied. Jack was staring at their hands and her words made him look back at her.
"That's not a compliment." Jack responded as he watched Sophie slip out of her wig and bandana.
"Take it as one." Sophie replied.
Jack ripped open her bodice, releveling her very womanly figure, Jack stared down at her now changed form as her body was preparing for the baby.
"What's wrong, love?" Jack asked as he detected how odd she was acting.
"I can't tell you. Anyone can be listening." Sophie said in a stand-off tone, taking Jack by surprise.
"I thought your father was the one who took you from me." Jack commented honestly, trying to break the unconfutable silence that fell between them.
"You thought right." Sophie responded.
"So, you too know what he did to the Pearl?" Jack stated more then asked.
Sophie turned around and stabbed her sword into the wooden beam that was behind Jack, He stared at her with shock from her sudden action.
"You weren't there that night, Jack. My father did what was required." Sophie replied.
"Well, either way, I missed you, darling. I was worried you had the baby without me." Jack admitted.
"I clearly didn't have YOUR baby, yet" Sophie replied making sure she emphasised 'your' to him.
"See, that makes me think there's something wrong." Jack confirmed.
"Jack." Sophie sighed. "I can't tell you. Not here, not now. In time." Sophie responded.
"I hear-tell you've been to the fountain." Sophie asked as she made her way to a bucket of water and washed away the rest of the make-up she wore to impersonate Jack.
"Not you, too. There be a lot of hear-telling going on these days." Jack stated in an annoyed voice. It was clear as day what his opinion was about the topic.
"The Fountain of Youth." Sophie specified.
"Sophie, love. Don't fret, you've still a few usable years left." Jack said. Sophie knew he was joking, and she wanted to desperately give it back to him however, she knew that would wreck her plan.
"Always, so charming. But you deflected my question." Sophie replied.
"Regarding the Fountain. Waste of time, really. Unless we have-"
Jack was cut off as the door opened and closed releveling scrum, a member of the crew Sophie was now a part of, he was a crafty man. Hardly the sharpness sword on deck, he was a man with shoulder length, once blonde hair. He had blue eyes but was known on board for his cheery spirits and slow wits, and his musical talent. He reminded Sophie of Gibbs in many ways, which was why scrum and she became quick friends. But no one could ever replace Gibbs.
"Milady, I see unseamanlike fellows of officious- looking nature." Scrum spoke as he looked at the men. Sophie and Jack walked over to him to see what he was talking about.
"Friends of yours?" Sophie asked.
"I may have unintentionally slighted some king or other." Jack confessed. Sophie rolled her eyes at his comment.
"You haven't changed." She stated.
"Implying the need?" Jack fired back.
"Yes! You seduced me and when I was the most venerable I had ever been in my entire life, you took off." Sophie said as she made up her story as she went.
Jack looked back at her, unsure what to do or say, he had no idea what she was talking about and felt very confused.
"What are you talking about?" Jack asked her. Sophie gave him a look and some-how he knew exactly what he needed to do and so, he continued.
"You demonstrated a lot of technique for someone I supposedly corrupted." Jack replied to her previous remark.
Scrum started to pile things up against the door, trying to buy time while Jack and Sophie came up with a plan of escape. As scrum was creating a quick diversion, Jack pulled Sophie around a wooden beam and pulled her into him. He rested one hand upon the beam and the other on her waist.
"You've got some explaining to do." Jack stated in a soft, yet firm, demanding tone. Sophie looked up into his brown eyes and shook her head no lightly.
She knew better then to let him in on the plan, her and her father had created back on the dreadful night. It was too earlier for him to know and far to risky. As Sophie was thinking, she realised was it a lack of faith in the plan or was it a lack of trust with Jack.
"No, Jack. I can't tell you anything." Sophie replied after a moment of silence.
"Why not?" Jack asked her.
"They are watching." was her only reply as she pushed him away from her just in time.
The doors burst open and the guards swarmed in like a wasp nest that had been provoked. Sophie and jack fought the guards to the back of the warehouse. They hit barrels along the way, with ale pouring out everywhere. As they were cornered, Sophie grabbed Jack's hand and squeezed it tight in fright. Once she realised what she was doing, she quickly let go. That kind of action could be enough to mess up the entire plan, Jack noticed, and he smiled to himself, knowing he still had an effect on her.
