Chapter: 4 Island Vacation & family Drama

The rest of your time spent on the island was amazing. You found a cave near a lake and just had a relatively relaxing time. Of course, you had problems to think about, but this would be your first time enjoying something that wasn't killing.

You were hoping that your father wouldn't call you in for any more jobs while you went to Heavens Arena. You didn't want to tell them what was going on, but lying was out of the question. You were good at lying but not good enough to fool them. So leaving out a few details shouldn't raise suspicion.

~Time skip~

Kill had passed along with Illumi and Hisoka. A lady came off the boat and proceeded to check the badges of everyone present. After she had finished Gon and the rest of Kill's friends emerged from the forest. After that, the ten of us boarded the airship.

"Who are you keeping an eye on and who do you not what to fight."

"No one has caught my eye really, " you really hadn't looked into the rest of the competitors much, " I don't want to fight number 404 405 403 and especially number 99, I will not lay a hand on him."

~Time skip~

"For the final phase of the hunter exam, you will be competing in a one on one tournament, " the old man said.

"Hold on a second so only the last person standing passes?" Leorio questioned.

"No, you only need one win to pass this phase."

'This old man, ' you thought to your self, ' only one person will fail then.'

"-the person who finishes at the top will not pass."

'Thought so.'

The chairman then showed everyone the bracket. You all had more than one chance to win. It was all based on rank too.

'Huh makes sense I'm not first I didn't do anything amazing during the exam'

You had been placed behind number 294 on the bracket. To be honest you didn't care where you were placed you would win anyway.

And with all the questions answer the first match started. The ninja looking guy and Gon were up first. You decided to sit and watch so you found a spot against the wall.

"Begin!!"

Gon got a good start and quickly dashed to the side. But was knocked to the ground with a single hit. Hanzo tried to convince Gon that he should give up.

"That's never going to happen, " he was knocked to the ground a second time than a third and then a fourth.

At this point, you were up from your spot as you watched as the boy got beaten for three hours. But he still tried to fight. As you stood there all you could think is how you were going to kill Hanzo.

Then he broke Gon's arm. Anger surged through you as you watched the boy wither in agony. Hanzo then went on about how he was trained and whatnot.

The Gon kicked him.

"I'll cut off your legs so they can't be reattached."

"Well that's a problem I don't want my legs cut off but I don't want to surrender either, " Gon continued, " so let's find a different way to fight."

You couldn't help but giggle, ' this kid is really something else.'

The fight ended with Gon still being stubborn and Hanzo forfeiting the match. Claiming Gon had won him over. Now the boy was taken away, unconscious of course.

Next was Kurapika and Hisoka. It was fast because Hisoka forfeited but not before whispering in his opponent's ear.

Hanzo was to fight you next and you were still upset with him for breaking Gon's arm. So you thought you'd bring the guy down a peg or two.
