A few days had passed and Joker seemed to had gotten more talkative as the days went by. If he wasn't the Joker, I'd think he was warming up to me. He seemed content with having someone there to listen to him talk about things that weren't plans to corrupt the city. If the conversations had been over a phone call, I would have never guessed I was talking to him of all people.
Later in the night, Joker approached me.
"Well, it's been fun" he sighed "but i gotta cut you loose now."
I looked up at him with a questioning expression.
"You get to go home now, come on."
I stood up immediately and followed Joker out to a van with his goons.
I wasn't sure where we were going, I just knew we were in the city now.
Once the van came to a stop, the back door opened to reveal that we were in the middle of some alley way. One of the henchmen broke open the side door to one of the buildings, causing an alarm to go off.
"Perfect." I heard Joker say to himself with a smug grin.
He led me into the building and up to the roof. At this point it was just the Joker and I.
"Alright, Cops should be here any minute but let's put the icing on the cake, why don't we?" He took out a phone from his pocket and began dialing.
"Hello Gordan."
"Who is this?" I heard faintly on the other line.
"I have your missing person, all you have to do is trace this call and come to us."
In less than five minutes, the sound of police cars could be heard and helicopters began to surround the roof top.
In that moment, the knowledge I had of the 'friendly' (if you could even call it that) Joker was gone. It was replaced by the knowledge of what everyone in Gotham knew him to be. There was that unpredictable nature that made people fear him so much. This was the Joker I feared I had encountered that first night.
The wind from the propellers blew strong as I began to fear for my life.
The helicopters shined a light on both of us and Joker turned to me.
"Pucker up, toots." He gave me a smooch, which caused me to pull away from him.
"Why did you do that?"
He didn't answer me, he just smiled looking at the helicopters as he waited for the cops to get him with his arms opened wide. As if taking it all in, as if this was what he wanted.
I didn't realize I was standing so close to the edge of the building. I took one more step back and I saw windows passing me by. As I felt myself falling faster, not even being able to scream; I was suddenly grabbed in mid-air.
"Batman?"
He placed me down on the sidewalk "Stay here and wait for help."
Then he went up to the building with his graple hook. I'm guessing to meet the Joker.
Before I knew it, it was all over. Joker had gone to Arkham Asylum and everything was back to normal.
~Back at the GCPD~
"I'm telling you, I don't feel good about this at all." Commissioner Gordan expressed "He set this whole thing up. He called me and told me to trace the call. He wanted me to catch him."
"I don't doubt Joker has a plan, I'll look more into it. Meanwhile you get home and get some rest." Batman insisted.
Batman's first stop after leaving the GCPD was going to be with Joker's hostage. He was doubtful that she'd have anymore information but he thought it wouldn't hurt to try and investigate a bit more.
(Y/N)'s P.O.V.
I was greeted by Batman at my apartment door.
"Can I help you?" I asked as I peaked my head out from behind the door.
"I need some information."
"Regarding the Joker?"
He nodded "The Joker planned to get caught and I need to know why. Did you ever hear him give a reason? Maybe you happened to over hear a meeting between him and the people working for him?"
"No, I'm sorry, I told the cops everything I knew. I was only ever in that one room. Wish I could help more." I shrugged.
"Okay, well if something comes to mind, even the smallest detail, call Commissioner Gordan."
"Of course."
