As her clothing disappeared, as did her sense of being. Asuna dissociated herself from the moment Sugō's hands rode up her dress.

His breath smelt of wine. The faint scent of cigarettes stuck onto his clothing. Sugō felt his grin becoming wider as he glared at the figure below him. Like a starving, rabid dog seeing meat for the first time in days.

As he began to touch her, he heard a slam from the back entrance. This made the man jolt, he needed to leave, now. There's no where to leave other than the door they came from, since this was the lowest level of the home.

His breath hitched as the bedroom door bursted open and three police officers stepped in. Two put Sugō under arrest, the other took off his sweater to cover the girl sprawled out onto the bed. He'd never seen something like this. Asuna shook within her half clothed self, a sniffling mess while clutching onto his vest.

"Let's get her out of here," one of the officers told the other. They both nodded while Asuna was picked up and walked towards safety.

Kirito and Sinon had tears welling up in the corners of their eyes as they watched the scene before them. "Asuna!" Kirito ran to her as the ambulance was strapping her up. "I'm so sorry, I should've protected you!" He felt like kicking himself in the face. He should've tried harder.

"Kirito, nothing you could've don't would've prevented this, so stop beating yourself up," Asuna gave a weak smile before being pulled up into the ambulance.

"Sorry, family only," the EMT stopped Kirito from following, slamming the door before him. The vehicle then drove off.

Asuna's mother flew in at a rapid pace, stating who she was. Demanding to see her daughter. She expected to see something horrifying, instead he eyes met with her daughter smiling at a boy whom she's never met. The woman quietly shut the door, slightly jealous that Asuna has never once smiled in her direction since growing up.

"They said my mom would be here soon. I'm kind of worried!" Asuna grinned at Kirito.

The raven-haired male grinned, "I'm sure she'll be here soon," he reassured.

She decided it was best to walk in at that moment. "I heard you were injured but you look fine," the mother let out in a cold tone. "What a waste of time," she clicked her tongue.

Kirito about jump out of his chair, wanting to scold her for being insensitive. But was stopped by Asuna, who shook her head as her mother walked out.

The clicking of her heels sound descending in the distance. It's always been this way.

Physical > Mental

"Is she just going to leave then? That's it?" Kirito wanted to scream at the nonsense. It doesn't make any sense. Why would mother ignore their child's emotional turmoil? Pathetic.

Asuna gave a weak smile, "That's how it's always been Kirito. So don't think much of it. All I need is you," she leaned over, embracing the male in a small hug.

A fake cough came from the distance, "Am I interrupting something?..." a wild Sinon appeared, bearing a gift. "It's not much but it makes people happy so I got you one too," she blushed while holding a succulent. The plant looked soft.

"Thank you~" Asuna blushed, "also thank you for coming to my aid. I'm sure you were scared," she played with her hands in her lap. A nervous tick.

"It was my pleasure, hope that asshat gets what he deserves," Sinon sat in the chair next to Kirito.

The three enjoyed each other's company for a while before Sinon went home.

Kirito about left before Asuna stopped him, practically begging him to stay the night. His presence made her feel safer.

The male agreed, getting comfortable on the sofa across the room. Well, as comfortable as he could get on the hard-like sofa.

"Hey Kirito,"

The male hummed, "hmm?"

"I love you," Asuna flipped over so her red face couldn't be seen. Embarrassing.

"Hey Asuna,"

Asuna stuttered cutely, "y-yeah?"

"I love you too," he grinned before moving around once more. "Sleep well. If you need me I'm right here,"

"Mhm," the girl smiled to herself.
