* 'Long' chapter ahead; read ending for A/N *
3 Months Later...
I was sitting at my desk, tapping my foot while biting the end of my pen, he sat next to as our hands were interlocked beneath the table; I blushed widely when he gave me a quick wink, even after two months has passed and our relationship has gotten better, I still can't help but get butterflies when he gives me small affection.
"Thank you Chad and Rachel, now it's..." Gazing down at the list with a smirk - "Andy and Rye, let's see what you got." Slightly pouting when we had to let go of each other as we made our way to the front of the class, everyone giving us bored stares while half of them fell asleep after their turn.
Glancing over at the gorgeous figure next to me who gave a reassuring nod. I smiled before opening my mouth - letting my words flow like water.
.
"I really appreciate you coming with my Andy." My mother says to me as I open the door of the rehab center, "No problem." I replied - following behind her. I looked around, it almost seemed like awaiting room at a hospital but it felt...vibrant. No whining kids complaining, no arguments at the front desk, everyone was sitting down minding their business.
Peaking through an open door I weakly smiled at the small group of others in a small room, they were smiling and laughing, they were so happy; but I keep forgetting the reason why they would be here...
"Andrew." Mother calls for me - I stepped forward until we were both standing at the main office, a woman who a fancy brown suit, hair in a tight bun, with glasses that were bigger than her face.
"Excuse me?"
Gazing up with bright attitude and a comforting smile the woman said; "Hi welcome to Naraconon Drug and Alcohol Addiction Rehabilitation center, how can I help you?"" I saw how my mother got a little nervous, her fingers were twitching and she didn't say a word. I stepped up and answered for her.
"Yes. My name is Andrew Fowler and this is my mother Lesley Fowler, we're going to need some professional help right away."
The woman slowly nodded then gave a frown, "For the both of you?"
I was ready to reply but my mother interrupted; "Just me." I was really proud of her confidence.
"Alright. What seems to be the issue?"
"I'm a severe alcoholic. I've been drinking ever since my husband left, and I want to change not just for myself, but for my child." My mother explained.
If I weren't in public I would be crying right now, but I only smirked.
"Okay! We have a room that currently open to newcomers of the center, I'll have someone come right away and address you. You may take a seat if you need to." Tapping away at her keyboard me and my mum both went over to sit.
"I can't believe I'm doing this..." She says, kind of hyperventilating. I immediately take a hold of her hand. "You have nothing to be nervous about. I'll always be here to support you."
"Thank you sweetheart."
Waiting for almost three minutes before a man wearing nothing but a while shirt and dark blue jeans approaches us, "Lesley Fowler?" He asked, my mother nods and I could tell by the way she had something more than appreciation in her eyes when she saw this man - I couldn't help but snicker.
"Follow me." He says, my mom giving me a wide eye glance before standing up; making her way after the handsome man.
.
Me and Rye was in his car, sitting in front of his home.
"Babe. I don't know if I can do it." Rye says to me, making my heart crack at the breakdown that might come in a few seconds.
"Don't get so worked up. Remember what you told me when I was having mum troubles. A mother and son's love is infinite. I know you love her and I'm sure she loves you." I simply state but Rye shakes his head frantically.
"What about the things she said to me at the hospital, she didn't even hesitate to clearly say she didn't want me around anymore." He responded; seeing the obvious despair on his face - it broke me.
"You never know. You've been staying at my house for the past few months, she's probably worried sick."
"She could've at least sent a call or text to see if I'm not dead." Rye huffs, rubbing his hands over his face in nausea.
"Just try, okay? For me?" I give puppy dog eyes that I knew Rye couldn't resist as he bit down at his lip. Grabbing the back of my neck to pull me closer to him, "You lucky you're cute." He sighs, I innocently giggle before bringing our lips together; immediately Rye licks the bottom of my life - I moan giving him the opportunity to slid his tongue into my mouth - our tongues tangling in a familiar way.
I move back a little, catching some air; "Might wanna go in there before this gets outta hand."
Smirking Rye gave me one last peck - turning around to open the door.
"This will be quick. Don't wanna make you wait." He says but I shake my head, "Take your time. Do this because you want to, not because you need to." I clarify.
.
Entering through the door the smell of fresh pancakes and biscuits filled my nose, it was like old times when I would wake up on the weekends to the smell of mum's famous biscuits.
I walked over to the kitchen where Shaun and Sammie sat, giggling like school girls while munching on their breakfast. They got so big after these past few months, I was disappointed to realize I wasn't there to watch them grow.
"Rye?!" Sammie's voice echoed around the house as he got up and ran to me at full speed and before I knew it he tackled me to the ground. "Oof!" I groaned then laugh as he gave a toothy smile.
"You're back!" Shaun exclaims, speeding towards us. I sit up on my elbows and grinned at their shocked faces, "When did you become so strong?" I question Sammie while rubbing my back - he shrugged.
"Spent a lot of time at practice." He answers but Shaun scoffs, "No you haven't you lazy sack of potatoes you've been at home for the past weeks! I'm the one who's been at the field!" Pushing his bother playfully where Sammie pushed him back a little harder I was quick enough to break up the fight that was soon to happen.
"Chill out bro, where's mom?" I whisper the last few words, Shaun and Sammie glance at each other; their once happy smiles turned into frowns.
"She's been crying a lot lately. Mainly because of you. She thinks you're probably dead in a ditch somewhere..." Sammie explains, "Thank God you're not!" Shaun says.
"Where is she now?" I ask - they both jerk their head to the door behind us, next to the bathroom.
"Bedroom."
I nod as I stood up, straightening myself before going slowly to her room.

(This wasn't edited, so excuse the mistakes.)
I've been dreading over this ending, and so far I'm totally fine with it. I honestly think this ending will be the way I want it to. I know I should've published yesterday and day before that, but like I said I was struggling with how I wanted this to end --- and my classes are back in session so it's hard to get things like updating finished.
As usual; thank you for all the reads, it's honestly a miracle of how this book has over 1.3K reads, completely unexpected! Thank you all so much! From the start when I started publishing in October 2019, I was unprepared to see it was getting over 100 reads. So it means the world!<3
I believe I'll "TRY" to publish the 2nd ending tomorrow! If possible! I can't promise.
Au Revoir!
