Leila, Troy, and Chad walked down the halls of East High, all headed to their homeroom.
Leila sat farther away from the boys, as they tended to ignore her when they were with their basketball friends. She sat with Kelsi Neilson, Ryan Evans, and the blonde tornado herself, Sharpay Evans.
Sharpay didn't like Leila for one reason and one reason only. Leila, if she really wanted to, could upstage her. And everyone knew it. Well, all of the theatre kids knew it. But Leila had decided her freshman year that she would just let Sharpay do her thing. They all knew who was the best, so she has no reason prove anything.
Leila had planned on never trying for a lead in a school production. However, when she heard faint singing coming from the locker room after basketball practice that Friday, everything changed. Because Leila knew that voice.
That was the voice of Chad Danforth
And what a beautiful voice it was.
