Mark's POV

I bolted awake my heart pounding by the second, next to me I saw Sam stand up and walk over to me.

"Mark Calm down you're okay," Says Sam "What happened,"

At that point I hesitated I didn't know if I should tell Sam or if I should keep it quiet. It seems to me that Dark was challenging me. He had showed me all of those horrible images trying to exploit me. I didn't like that, if he was going to target Sam first, I had to keep him safe. I would die if he were to get hurt because of my stupidity.

"Nothing," I said deciding not to tell Sam about all that I had seen. "It didn't work he's still going after the crystal,"

"Then we need to stop him,"

"How far are we from Colombia?"

"About ten minutes away,"

"Okay," I said and there I also had to decide, I had to make sure that Sam didn't get hurt. For the remainder of the flight Sam and I looked out the window. Sam might have been thinking about something different compared to what I was thinking about. Not to mention if Darkiplier wanted to fight me himself then I might as well give him that satisfaction. After thinking about that, I had fallen asleep. I didn't wake up again until we landed in Colombia; I groaned as I woke and looked over at Sam.

"Hey Sam? Where are we?"

"We just landed in Colombia," he said. "You ready to go?"

"Before we leave this jet," I responded, "Sam we need to talk,"

"What about?" he asked.

"Sam, I don't want you to put yourself into situations like this,"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean I can't let you get hurt again,"

"Mark, I don't understand,"

"I need you to stay here on the jet," I said as I looked over at him. The minute I said that his facial expression changed from happy to sad. I didn't want to say it, but I had no choice. I hate that I brought Sam into this situation and I couldn't possibly bring him in deeper than he already was. Dark already saw him as a threat, so if he stayed on this jet then I wouldn't worry so much that the kid was going to get hurt or worse killed.

"Mark," he said, "I'm not going to let you face them alone,"

"Sam," I responded, "This is what I worry about,"

"Is it something that Dark said?" he questioned as I made my way over to the door not answering his questions. "Mark, if it is, then don't listen to him," he continued "I'm not going to leave your side while your going after them,"

"Sam, it's for your own good," I reply, "I have to do this alone,"

"But!"

"No buts!" with that, I walked off the plan and started down the trail. But not before I look behind me at the jet; in the window was Sam watching me. Turning away I ran down the path in search of Darkiplier and Lucifer. I still couldn't help but think about how I must have failed him. I put him in so much danger that he probably hates me by now.

Sam's POV

I watched Mark walk away from the jet, he wanted me to stay where I was—I pace around the jet trying to think of the best way to get Mark to realize that he wasn't alone. Whatever Dark said to him was a way to divide the two of us. Like them, we were stronger as a group not alone. I was unsure about what Mark was trying to do but I sure as hell was not going to let him face this alone. Pulling all the confidence I had I looked for anything in the jet that could help me defeat Lucifer and Dark. I thought about everything that I had witnessed; just as I was about to draw on a blank, I thought about what Mark said when it came to Lucifer and Dark's species.

Dark was a demonic vampire and Lucifer (my alter ego) was a demon. No matter what either of them were they both shared the same weakness. Holy water and a cross, but where would I find the cross? Or better yet holy water? I doubt this jet had anything closely related to it. I began to search the jet hoping to discover anything. As I did, I looked over at a cabinet and saw something hanging out. Curiously, I walked over to it and opened it. That was when a cross fell, landing in my hand.

"I'm not even going to ask what Mark was doing with a cross hanging in the cabinet," I thought to myself. "Or how he has Holy water in a cupboard," Clutching them in my hands I started running toward the door, dangerous or not, Mark was not going to lose me. He needs my help! I landed on a patch of grass and looked around. We were in the middle of a wilderness, which meant that this was going to be a challenge to find Mark.

"Well... might as well start the walk," I said to myself "it'll be a long way until I found Mark,"

(The song "Try" from Percy Jackson begins to play as Mark and Sam start heading down the road. Sam Searching for Mark and Mark searching for Darkiplier.)

Mark's POV

I walked through the wilderness hoping to find the castle. It was a long walk, I tried to find anything that could point to the castle, but I couldn't find anything. I groaned as it was starting to get colder and darker. I had hopes that Dark wasn't going to find me here, if he does then I guess that would have been one way to find me. How I was planning to confront Dark and fight him—I didn't know.

Another mile it had been almost three hours and the sun was already setting. I started to gather firewood that can help me survive in this wilderness until I can find that castle. I started getting the fire ready and as I did, I swear I heard something walking. The crackling of the fire had been going on for a few minutes now, but that sound scared the crap out of me.

"Hello?" I called out. No one answered; standing up carefully, I grabbed a rock that was sitting close to me and started walking toward the sound "Is someone there?"

"Oh, Mark, someone is here,"

"Who are you?"

"Still don't recognize my voice huh?"

"What?"

"I guess that's what you came here for in the first-place right?"

"Darkiplier,"

"Ding, ding, ding," says Dark as he appeared before me. "You came alone,"

"I'm done trying to put Sam and any of my friends in dangerous situations again," I retorted "This time however, I am going to kill you,"

"Funny," he said causing my face to become confused "because I was thinking of something different,"

"What are you talking about?" just as I thought I had Dark I felt someone behind me as they hit me over the head with a rock. I was hit so hard that I collapsed unconscious on the ground.
