Chapter Nine

Sam's POV

The next morning, I woke up with the sun shining in my face. Groaning I raised my hand up to block out the light. When I realized that it was daylight out, I sat up and rubbed my eyes. Looking at my surroundings I saw what I did, I had a fire that must have went out sometime last night. Next to me was my cellphone, picking it up I looked at the time and saw it was nine in the morning. Stretching I stood up and surveyed my area, it wasn't much; however, when I turned toward the opposite way of the fire, I noticed drag marks. My eyes lit up as I gathered up the remaining objects, I had with me and I began to follow the drag marks. Mark must have been hit from behind then dragged off. There was only one person that could have known Mark was out here on his own and that was Dark.

If that was the case, I knew Mark must have been in danger. I took off running faster hoping that it would lead me to La Alboraya castle and thus leading me straight to Mark. Only problem was trying to locate him. I continued walking a little more until after maybe twelve minutes of walking I arrived at an old castle, the castle seemed old and burnt but it was still standing. I was amazed by how it was still standing even though it seemed like it was rotting away. I wondered if this was La Alboraya castle; walking closer to it I looked above the door and saw the words I knew had to be La Alboraya Castle. My heart began to speed up as I began to sprint toward the door.

"This is it," I spoke to myself "Mark, please be in here and I hope you delayed them as long as possible"

Lucifer's POV

I was walking with Dark and our prisoner, Mark who was being stubborn. I wasn't even sure if we could trust him as this was Dark's alter ego, for all we know he could have been tricking us. We were searching for the dreamers crystal as it would allow us to project the laser to many more people compared to an individual. With that crystal we could become leaders amongst our alter ego brethren. Dark had demanded that Mark led us to the crystal, he also asked where the crystal was located. From what Mark says the crystal is located under the castle floors but it was heavily guarded by traps.

Dark kept a gun pointed at Mark in case he did anything stupid as we got closer to the entrance to the tunnels, I felt pain go throughout my head as I groaned and knelt down. When Dark heard that he turned around and looked at me before turning back to Mark and forced him to sit on the floor while making sure to keep the gun pointed at him, then he turned to me.

"Lucifer? What's wrong?"

"Sam," I said through breaths "He's here, he's in the castle!" I heard Dark growl as he turned toward Mark.

"Was this your plan Mark Edward Fischbach?"

"I didn't expect the kid to come and search for me!"

"Nice try but I don't believe you," turning back toward me "Lucifer, I think you can deal with Sam," The pain subsided as I stood up slowly with an evil smirk on my face. Looks like I get to deal with my alter ego.

"You can count on me, Dark," with that, I stood up and left the hallway in search of Samuel.

Dark's POV

When Lucifer told me that Sam was in the castle, I got angry. I did not need a kid getting in my way of total domination. Thinking Mark had something to do with it I looked at him.

"Was this your plan Mark?"

"Hey!" he said, "Why would you assume I said something,"

"For all I know you must have,"

"Well I didn't, the kid came on his own,"

"Whatever it is, Lucifer will deal with it so stand up!" I grabbed Mark by the arm and shoved him forward once again, allowing him to make his way down the hallway. As we walked, we arrived at a door; I raised an eyebrow with curiousness as I wondered if this was the door that we were meant to go through.
