The rest of the day went by fast. I barely had any classes with Taylor. I had one class with Sam and one class with both Dylan and Sam. Did this mean I needed more friends? I don't trust many people. Believe it or not, I didn't trust Taylor at first but then we started talking more and after a month of being friends I finally gave her my phone number. For Sam and Dylan it took like half of 6th grade year for me to trust them, but now I trust all them very well. They have more friends but we still choose to sit with each other at lunch. The thing is I don't have any other friends besides them. I am quite a shy person and I am socially awkward.
When I got home I went up to my room and lay down on my bed, until my mom called me.
"Katlyn, come down here!" she yelled up the stairs.
"Why?" I replied.
"Why, because I told you to. Now get down here."
"Ok." I got off my comfy bed and went down stairs.
When I got down stairs I asked my mom, "Why did you want me to come down here?"
"I wanted to tell you we are having some company for dinner tonight," she replied.
"Who?" I asked raising one eyebrow.
"Tyler has invited his new girlfriend Clara, her family, and invited his new friend Justin."
"Oh, does this mean I have to dress up?"
"You don't have to wear a fancy dress, but you still want to look nice, so go clean up. Also take a shower because you look horrible."
"Thanks mom," I said in a sarcastic voice.
I did as my mom said and went back upstairs to take my second shower of the day. I don't know why my mom makes a big deal about dinner when people come over. I mean it is my house I should be able to dress how I want when I want.
Also I shouldn't have to dress up just because someone is coming over. I took a really quick shower; it took me like seven minutes. I went to my room and put on some nice dark skinny jeans. I was trying to decide what shirt to wear, but I didn't know what shirt to wear, so I decided to put a dress on. The dress is an off white color, the top layer is lace, it is strapless, and it has a gold sparkly belt to complete it. I looked in my mirror and thought I looked decent, not too over dressed and not too undressed. It looks like I could wear this dress to school, but I wouldn't. I didn't know what to do with my hair because I didn't feel like straightening it or curling it, so I decided on putting it in a fishtail that went to the side and straightened my bangs. My hair was long enough, that my fishtail stopped right underneath my chest. Right when I was finished I went down stairs it was only 4:25 and dinner started at 5, but I have like twenty minutes before they arrived. I started watching an episode of "How to get Away with Murder". I had only seen the first one and there were already six episodes after the first, I had a lot to catch up on. In the middle of the show the doorbell rang. Tyler got up to get it. Mom came down the stairs while she was trying to put her earrings in her ears. She had finished putting them in right before Tyler opened the door. I paused my T.V. show and turned off the T.V. I got up to go greet everyone.
When I got to the door I said hi to Clara's family. She had a younger sister and a younger brother. Her sister looked like she was in 4th grade, and her brother looked like he was in 7th grade. My mom welcomed them in, as we gathered around the table, the doorbell rang again, I got up to get it since I wasn't involved in any of the conversations. I opened the door to find Justin, you know the popular kid. I didn't even think of this Justin, when my mom said my brothers friend Justin, I thought she had meant a different Justin, not the JUSTIN HARVEY!!
"Hey little girl, I didn't know you lived her," Justin said with a smirk on his face.
"Don't call me little girl, and yeah I live here," I replied, and then Tyler had shown up. Thank gosh he saved me from having to talk to Bigfoot. Tyler and Justin did the guy hug thing, while they were doing that, I decided to walk to the table. I sat down next to Clara's little sister, and guess who sat next to me? You guessed it Justin. Clara's little sister kept poking her food, as if it was just ran over and put on her plate. Clara and Tyler were sitting by each other, of course. I had to be nice tonight, just for my brother, please someone help me. I can't take it anymore, because now Clara's sister got gum and was chewing away like there was no tomorrow, and then you have Justin who is kicking my feet and it is really annoying. I asked to be excused, so I walked up the stairs to my room.
I just needed a little bit of me time before I went back down stairs. I lay on my bed, looking at the ceiling, and just thinking about random things. I felt someone come into my room, and I looked to see that it was Justin. What was he doing in here? It is my room; he has no right to be in here.
"What are you doing in here?" I asked with a bit if an attitude.
"Your mom told me to tell you that you have to say goodbye to Clara and her family," he replied.
"Ok, but why didn't she just yell for me?"
"I told her I would come up here and tell you," he winked at me.
"Is that all?"
"No, I am staying the night. Can you tell me where the guest room is?"
"Why are you staying the night at my house on a school night?"
"I am having some family trouble at home, and your mom said I could stay here until things dial down at home. Anyway, can you tell me where the guest room is?"
"Yeah, it is downstairs, down the hall on your left, and it will be the third door on your right."
"Thanks, and by the way you look beautiful tonight."
"Thanks," I said as I felt my face get hot.
"You're welcome little girl, and you look adorable when you blush."
I felt my cheeks get even hotter, then I said "Don't call me little girl, Bigfoot." Then he walked out of my room laughing to himself. Justin can't have an effect on me, not in as million year, not ever.
I went down stairs to say goodbye and waited for them to leave so I could go back upstairs. Once I got upstairs, I got in my warm pajamas. I put on black yoga pants and a baggy black shirt I got from Tyler's room. Then I went to the bathroom to brush my teeth, but right when I walked in there stood Justin with a towel wrapped around his waist.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"I came in here to brush my teeth. What are you doing in here?" I asked. Stupid question Katlyn, obviously he was taking a shower.
"I was taking a shower, obviously."
"Why didn't you use the bathroom right across from the guestroom?"
"The hot water wasn't working, so your mom told me to come use this one."
"Well get out, because this is my bathroom."
"I don't see you name on it," he said playing the little kid game.
"Well it doesn't have to have my name on it because this is my house."
"I don't see your name on the house either, so I guess you don't own anything," he smirked.
"Just get out because I really need to brush my teeth and go to sleep."
"Ok, princess."
"Don't call me that either." Then he walked out with the towel still wrapped around his waist. I brushed my teeth and then hurried into my room to get under my warm covers. Soon I drifted off into wonderful dreams.
