Four years later

"Avery, Michael, and Hailey stop," I said.

We had Avery and Hailey together. They were our twins. They are now three about to turn four. Michael is two. He is a troublemaker. They all like getting into trouble. They get into to trouble a lot.

Justin came in the room with Evan, our youngest in his arms. Evan is going to turn one in two months. Justin passed Evan to me. Then he stood behind me as we watched the other three kids play.

They were playing with the pots an pans. I told them to stop but that wouldn't. I just left then because they only took two pots out and one pan. Then they went to play with Hailey's fake kitchen. I loved seeing them play together.

Then the doorbell rang. Justin went to open it and it was Jessica, her husband Caleb, and her kid Olivia. Olivia is three. She just turned three. My kids get along very well with her.

I told Olivia that the kids were in the playroom. She ran to the playroom and I heard them screaming because she was there. They love her, they play all the time.

The grown ups just sat on the couch and talked. I was still holding Evan. I looked down on him and thought I have a great life.
I have a wonderful husband. I have great kids and great friends. Including Derek and Sam still. We all have our wonderful families. Justin and I ha our ups and downs in life. When we were in high school, we just like each other, but now we love each other now. My life almost feels like a book. You get the man of your dreams and have kids. Then you guys live happily ever after. Why does life have to be so complicated sometimes? Only if it were all easy. It was for me. I just wish the same for my kids.

That night me and Justin lay down once all the kids are asleep. We just look at each other for a moment. He leans closer and gives me a kiss. I feel fireworks just like the first time we kissed. I don't think I could get use to this feeling.

"I love you Katlyn," Justin said.

"I love you too," I said.

"We have great lives," he said.

"I know but one question," I said.

"What?" he asked.

"Why did you pick me out of all the other girls? You could have had married Jessica."

"I see something in you that I don't see in any other girl," he said.

"And what would that be?" I asked.

"A princess," he said and kissed me.

I still couldn't help but wondering, Why me?
