Where: Alyssa's Bedroom; Human Realm
I sit on the edge of my bed, nervously playing with my petticoat. I have on my black top with the lace cut back and a matching black and red corset. My maroon petticoat reaches to my mid thigh, covering the top half of my piano keyboard tights.
It's been a full month since The Red Queen and Sister Two were defeated. With the help of Dad, we were able to save Jeb and Morpheus from the Looking-Glass World. Then they helped us get into Wonderland through a frozen tulgey tree. Once we found Alison, I called upon the wraiths to fixe the human world entrance to the Wonderland. I can once again come and go as I please. We also restored Wonderland to its former glory. It took less than a day to restore the land, but it took a few weeks for the inhabitants to fully readjust.
That's why Morpheus said the one day and one night I vowed to give him, would be moved to a month later. Now wonderland is back to normal. Now I have to be with Morpheus for a full day and do what he wants during it.
It's 11:58 AM. He will be here any minute. I worry what he will do to me while in Wonderland. My imagination wanders to if he gave me tum tum berries. So lost in thought, I don't even notice him leaning against my door frame.
He clears his throat, making me jump in surprise.
"Good afternoon, luv." His jewels turn an affectionate shade of rose.
"Hey," I flatly respond. I notice he is wearing a hat I yet to have seen. It is a deep royal blue, his suit a matching shade, It has moths going in a spiral around the hat with a black silk ribbon around the rim of it. I decide to make him happy by inquiring about it.
"New hat, I see. Now, what might this one be for?" He beams at my question. He lifts his hands to his hat and tilts it at an, attempted, sexy angle.
"This would be my Annexation Hat"
I give him a confused look. He smirks before saying, "I am wearing it today because I will be adding to your affection for me." He grins tauntingly. I roll my eyes at him as I throw a plump red pillow at him. He lifts one arm and catches it with ease. He calmly sets it back on my bed.
He walks over to my new mirror (my mom bought me a new one after her return from Wonderland, to replace the one she admitted to breaking on purpose) and touches the glass. It makes the familiar cracks and shows the sundial that conceals the rabbit hole.
"Shall we?" He gracefully extends his hand out to me. I ignore it and walk through the glass portal. In the corner of my vision I see him drop his hand and follow me.
Once the slight nausea passes, I look around to make sure no one is watching us. There isn't a soul in sight. I look at my watch, 12:16. Definitely not four o'clock yet. I walk up to the sundial and use my hand to cast a shadow to show 4:00. After adjust my hand a little to make it just right, I get it open and look behind me. Morpheus is leaning against a tree in the shade.
"Oh, sure, make me do all the work!" I cross my arms and glare at him. He just smiles before slowly walking over.
When he makes it over, he says, "I knew you could do it. Besides, I had to make sure the queen still knew what she was doing." he looks down at me, his jewels an amused green. Oh, the way they look glistening in the sun like this... I think before shaking my head and hopping into the rabbit hole. Morpheus dives in a few seconds after me. He grabs my hand to bring himself upright next to me as we drift down, and down. He spreads his beautiful, elegant, black wings, before wrapping them around us. He leaves a little bit of an opening at the top so we can see when we get close to the bottom. We aren't even half way yet.
He faces me as he wraps his wings a little tighter, pushing me closer against him. I have my arms pinned up against his chest. He smells of licorice and his hookah. The scent so familiar, it's comforting. I lean into the smell a little, not realizing it.
"Getting cozy, are we?" He smirks at me. I blush in slight embarrassment. I began to move away a little when Morpheus gently pulls me back, tucking my head under his chin. I still have my palm against his chest. I can feel his steady heartbeat. Meanwhile, mine has decided to do gymnastics in my chest. I don't get how he can be so... normal in a moment like this. I bury my face in his satin shirt.
I feel him shift his head. "We are a few feet from the ground." He doesn't move away from me. I feel the ground under my toes, as we gently stop desending. I steady myself against him, once we are fully on the ground. He releases us from his wings. The moment he does, I miss his warmth. But I would never admit that to him. I take in our surroundings. It looked exactly the same as the last time I was here. There are random items such as tables, chairs, and even a toaster covering the walls. It looks like something or someone was trying to get out.
I see the bottle on the table and start heading over to it, when Morpheus grabs my glove covered wrist. He grins calming as he says, "I brought mushrooms." He reaches into his pocket and pulls out two mushrooms. I take one and bite the shrinking side off, careful not to eat the other side. I immediately feel my bones condense and my skin tightens until I am six inches tall. I watching as Morpheus does the same. Once we are set, we walk towards the curtain that reveals a door behind it. We Continue walking down the hall in silence the red door at the end of the tunnel. Morpheus uses my key to open the door. He holds it open for me, ever the gentleman. I, blinking, walk into the beautiful land I will rule someday, with Morpheus as my king. I look back at my friend. I remember the vision Ivory made me vow to never tell anyone I had seen. Except I did tell. Or rather, I showed him. Now we are both aware that the other has seen the vision. Sometime after Wonderland was restored, I asked Ivory to release me of the vow. I still think of it often.
I'm in the Red Court throne room. I see a child around the age of seven running towards me, giggling as he stumbles and get right back up. He looks just like Morpheus, except for his shocking blue eyes. My shocking blue eyes. Next Morpheus comes bounding in after the boy. His jewels flashing colors of pride and joy. The child runs up to me and goes behind me, tugging at my gown. "Mummy, don't let him get me!" He laughs as he hides behind me. Morpheus sneaks up the stairs. His eyes are sparkling with joy. He quietly puts his finger to his lips and gives me a quick peck on the cheek, before spinning me so he can grab the boy. He picks him up and throws him in the air, laughing. They both look so happy...
I smile thinking about it. I catch Morpheus smiling at me, as if my smile is enough to make his appear. He doesn't ask what I was thinking about, though I know he will later.
"So, Blossom, what do you want to do first on the best day and night of your life?"
