Burr's POV
After Laf and Alexander left I couldn't help letting out a loud growl. Ok, I rarely get angry but I know for a fact that Thomas Jefferson is going to be there!
You wonder why I know? Because James wouldn't stop texting me about how him and Jefferson were going for a picnic with the Hamilsquad - or at least that's what Alex calls them.
I'm still questioning whether what happened the other night was Jefferson being genuinely kind to Alexander or if he was up to something. I don't fancy the poofy haired boy. He's so.. I don't know.. strange? He's always getting into fights with Alex too the point where he comes back to our dorm and cries - which is rare!
I don't trust him.. and I'm worried that if he is trying to manipulate Alexander.. he's falling for it! I need to get to the park asap!
Time skip (bc I'm lazy!)
I arrive at the Forgotten Gardens and walk through the gates. I head towards the river assuming that's where they'll all be. When I turn the corner I'm immediately faced with a wild scene.
Eliza chasing Peggy. Mulligan sneaking up on Angelica. Who may I add is reading - yeah that's going to end well! - Lafayette trying to feed a duck a whole baguette. Laurens chasing birds with Alexander chasing after him yelling. James was sitting beside Angelica and Jefferson looked preoccupied by his own jacket.
This should be fun.
I slowly approached he group kinda hoping no one actually noticed I was here. I was beginning to relax thinking no one had, but then Angelica whisper-shouted at me "Burr! Come here!" I warningly glare at Mulligan who backs away slowly as I sat down beside her.
"What's with the whispering?" I asked quietly taking on the message to be soft about this. She raised an eyebrow and nodded towards Peggy who was still being chased by Eliza. I chuckled and nodded "ohhh I get it"
She gave me a hungry look and I suddenly felt uncomfortable "Uh Angie are you ok?"
"Oh yeah, sorry did you hear about Alex and- " she looked over at Jefferson who was sitting beside James quietly stroking his purple jacket.I shook my head in confusion. Oh no. What had he done to Alexander! Had he hurt him?! No relax Burr you're just being protective. "No" I said flatly. Angelica frowned before looking over at Alexander who had now jumped on Laurens and looked like he was tickling him into not chasing the birds.
I shook my head and chuckled softly at the scene. Angelica nudged me and when I turned back to look at her, she had a small smirk on her face. "What?" I said in surprise and she laughed unfortunately catching the attention of Peggy.
The girl squealed and ran over to us. "A-a-aron's here!" Eliza roughly nudged her younger sister. "Hush Peggy, you know that's not his name!" Jefferson looked up and when he caught sight of me gave me a particularly friendly smile. Uh.. what?
I quickly glanced up at Peggy and Eliza with a smile. "It's fine, really" Peggy loves to tease people and I know I find getting angry about it isn't really helpful so I just let her do it.
She smiled and sits down beside accidentally knocking James. "Sorry." He smiled and moved over for her to fit. "So, did you hear about Alex?" The excitement in her voice was obvious. I looked to Angelica who just shrugged. "Angie asked me the same question.. shouldn't it be Alex to tell me?"
Peggy gave me an innocent smile "I know! But do you know what I'm going to say?" I raised an eyebrow "it's something to do with Jefferson and Alexander isn't it.." my tone coming out to be more of a growl which I instantly regret.
The Schuyler sisters and James gave me a concerned look and I felt my self becoming panicky. To make things worse Jefferson looked up at me with a strange look. Ah shit.
Alex's POV
I was just arguing with Laurens about why he shouldn't chase the birds when I looked over to see Burr looking incredible uncomfortable around the group that looked to be giving him some intense looks.
I stopped Laurens and walked over too the group. When I got closer I saw that Burr wasn't uncomfortable but panicking. I was quick to think and I grabbed his hand and pulled him away from the group.
I could feel that his breath was harsh. They all gave me weird looks and I glared at them before pulling Burr into a hug. "Shhh, Burr it's ok I'm here now" I whispered so only he could hear me. Once he was in my embrace he started too relax a little. I walked him away from the group and sat him under a tree. I sat down beside him and just stayed with him until he had fully collected himself.
He looked at me and smiled slightly "thank you Alexander." I smiled back happy to see was ok. "That's ok, let me know when you're ready to talk." He looked down and nodded gently not saying anything as he leaned on me for reassurance.
It's VERY rare for Burr to get like this and I know it can only be caused my too much pressure. I know that the Schuyler sisters, James and Thomas has something to do with it but I never forced him into telling me things until he was ready.
I heard Burr take a breath and then I looked down at him. "You ready?" I asked gently and he nodded. I just listened as he told me about how everyone had been putting him under pressure to talk about whatever was going on between me and Jefferson.
I tensed up at the mention of the taller boy's name making Burr sit up with a smirk. "Alexander, do you like Jefferson?" I could feel my cheeks getting hot and I turned away from him avoiding eye contact.
"Alexander?" That damn serious tone. I squirm around uncomfortably which he took as a back off gesture and stopped trying to push me into talking. I relax a bit and look at him. "Ok fine. Yes maybe I have a little crush on Thomas.."
He smirked and raised an eyebrow. "What happened to the 'I hate Jeffershit' and constant insults at school?" I smiled a blush forming on my face "well, I don't know he's more kind to me now after what happened with the storm." Burr nodded.
I then gulped slightly "Uh.. Burr?" He looked at me with a kind smile "Yes Alexander?"
"Well, Thomas invited me to go to his dorm tomorrow night. I kinda said yes." Burr's smile faded as I spoke."Burr are you ok?" I gave him a worried look and he returned me with a serious look. "Alexander, I'm-"
"Please Burr! I know you don't really like him.. but this might be a good chance for me too actually befriend him and end years of disagreement" I cut him off.He shook his head and laughed at my overreaction. "Hamilton, Hamilton you get too ahead of yourself. Of course I'm not trying to stop you from hanging with Jefferson, but I just want you to be careful and promise you'll call me if ANYTHING happens, ok?"
I smile and nod feeling stupid for jumping in too early. "Ok, I promise" he smiled back seeming satisfied with my answer before he lay back against the tree. A smirk formed on his face. "So tell me. Why do you even have your eyes on Thomas Jefferson?" I gulped and begin to tell him everything that has been trapped up inside me about my feelings for Thomas.
Like any great friend he just listened, nodding when needed and allowing me too speak my mind.
Something I do a lot.

I'm sorry it's been such a long time since I last updated this story!
For a while I lost interest in writing this, but after seeing Hamilton in London I found some inspiration to continue.
Hopefully this chapter is ok 😁
