[Note: there is some VERY slight Hamburr but that's about it]

Burr's POV

I was peacefully sitting on the couch with the TV going while I scrolled through Instagram when I heard the door of our dorm being open.

I continued to look through my phone knowing it was Alex returning from Jefferson's. I assumed he'd just walk back into his room and start working like he always does so I didn't hear the footsteps approaching from behind.

I was so focused on my phone that I jumped when someone placed their hands on my shoulders. I looked up and smiled as Alexander gazed down at me with a smile on his face. "Hello Burro" he teased knowing I hated being called that.

I frowned before pulling him over onto he couch, tickling him. "I've told you not to call me that" I scolded in a playful way. He let out a surprised squeal and was soon in a fit of laughter, shortly after I stopped to let him breathe.

He lay on the side on the couch out of breath. I chuckled softly "I'm sorry Alexander, I had to!" I exclaimed. In between trying to get air back into his lungs he spoke. "I. Will get. You back. For that." I grinned and gave him a smug look. "Well, I'd like to see you try anyway you deserved it for calling me Burro! You know very much I hate it."

Once he had gotten his breath back he sat up "who told you?" I gave him a confused look "what?" He hesitated. "I mean- uh you know.." I quickly caught on with a nod. "Ooh! Alexander I've always known!" He gave me an unconvinced look. "Really Burr? Laf or Laurens had had nothing to do with this?" I shrugged. "Maybe. Maybe not."

An uncomfortable silence fell over the two of us before I finally decided to break it. "So, how did things go with Jefferson?" Alexander seemed to tense up slightly before he looked up at me. I tilted my head as I tried to read his expression. He seemed nervous. I was about to ask if he was okay when his phone began to ring.

Goddamn phones!

Ham boy's POV

I took the small device out of my pocket and glanced at the name of the caller. It was John. I looked over at Burr and gave him an apologetic smile. "Sorry, is it alright if I answer this? I'll be back. I promise." After he gave me a small nod I stood up and headed towards the door, opened it before stepping outside.

I answered the call "Hey John whats up?" My voice sounded more shaky than I intended.

"Alex, you okay? You sound shaken up" I shook my head as I walked into the park and sat down on a bench before he answered him.

"Sorry I'm fine. I'm just in the park right now." John seemed to relax for a moment before he got overly excited when I mentioned I was at the park. "Oh my god! I'm here too- wait I can see you! I'm over by the fountain! I'll coming over" He immediately hung up the call. I sighed and laughed slightly at his over enthusiasm.

A few moments later I could see him racing over towards me with a big grin on his face. I smiled as he reached me and sat down beside me. "So, I know that today you went and spent sometime with Thomas. How'd it go?" I sighed as I felt my heart beginning to beat faster than it should. This was what I was afraid of. No he's your best friend you can tell him!

"Alex?"

"Sorry, yeah J-Jefferson.." I stuttered nervously. He gave me a concerned look "Alex! Did he hurt you!? I swear I'll beat him up if he did!!!"

Fuck. He'd taken my answer the wrong way. "No no! He didn't hurt me.. he just-" I paused taking a moment to breath.

Just say it, what's the worst that could happen? "I got there. He let me in but was being unbelievably flirty and then it got to a point where he went a little far and I had to make up the excuse that I needed to go to he bathroom to escape the situation. Then when I was in there I got so stressed about whether I should call Burr or not then I kinda screamed.. out loud and-" He cut me off which kind of gave me a minute to breath. "Wait. You're telling me that you screamed out loud?!" He broke into a laugh.

I rolled my eyes feeling more relaxed to go on. "Yes Laurens. I did. And then he heard me and came into the bathroom and asked if I was okay. Then when I said I was fine I only saw a spider-" he laughed harder. "Oh my god! What the hell Alex you don't have a fear of spiders!"

"I know but Jefferson does know that! Anyway stop interrupting!! He asked if I wanted to come and sit back down. I told him I wasn't feeling well and needed to leave. So he led me out and then I was about to leave—it's about to get interesting by the way—I turned around and saw a look of worry and sadness- I don't know how to explain it but I ran into his arms and kind of. Kissed him.."

Laurens just stared at me a visible look of surprise. I slowly waved my hand in front of his face. "Uh Laurens?" He shook his head like he was coming out of a trance. "I'm sorry.. wait a second what- wait? YOU WHAT?! YOU KISSED THOMAS JEFFERSON??!!" I was taken aback. "Yes. I did, I-I just.. I don't know I didn't mean to" Laurens shook his head again. "I'm sorry Alex, I didn't mean to yell. I was just surprised. I mean I knew you liked him.. but I didn't know that much. How did Burr take it?"

I went silent and looked away from him. "Umm, that's why I answered your call. I'm scared to tell him.. I don't know what to say." Laurens leaned closer to me with a smirk on his face. "Oh Alex, you know Burr! Just.. say what you said to me. It's not like he would shoot you" we both laughed.

We spent the rest of the time walking around the park catching up from the last time we saw each other. It wasn't until I checked my phone that I noticed the ten unread text messages from Burr. I must of accidentally had my phone on silent.

Laurens glanced over my arm, "they all from Aaron?" I nod tucking my phone into my pocket with a sigh. "Well, I guess I'd better head back before he really does kill me." I give Laurens a hearty pat on the back before heading out of the park.

I quietly slipped into the dorm and headed straight for my room. Maybe, just maybe I can get there before- "You're back, about time." Ah shit, should of seen that coming. Burr stood leaning against the door of his room. "Wanna tell me where you've been for the past-" he looked down at his watch. "3 hours?"

I walked over to the couch and sat down patting a spot beside me for him to join me. He sat down angled enough to look at me. Inhaling deeply my heart pounding inside of my chest.

I think it's time to tell the truth.

Finally, another well deserved chapter!
I had a bit of a writers block and resorted to art so was able to do anything.
Now with all this COVID19 I found some hidden motivation and wrote the rest of this.
