The Start of a Headache

I silently cursed to myself and held my breath as Josh slowly opened each  stall trying to find me.

I drowned out my thoughts as I focused my attention on Josh's movements.

I slowly moved my shoes on top on the toilet to keep myself hidden. I then felt some pressure on my back and my eyes widened a bit.

It didn't help that my wings were pressed against my back threatening to shred my clothes.

His footsteps then slowly moved closer to my stall and I could see his black shoes slowly come into my line of vision.

My breath hitched as the stall door moved in front of me. Josh let out a sigh of relief and said, "hey dude you alright? You can't just run off like that man".

I stayed silent praying that he would just leave me alone but as expected he shook the door once more and with more force.

"Quinn, are you alright dude? you're kind of worrying me man" he said starting to pull out his phone.

Another moment passed before I heard the shuffling of feet and he slowly put his knees on the floor.

"Shit maybe he hit his head or something. I need to go into the stall to check" he said and began to put his his hands on the floor.

My eyes widened as I tried pressing my back further against the wall to no avail.

I gritted my teeth, knowing I had to say something but my voice would sound weird.

"Im fine Josh" I said in a raspy tone.

"Hey you sound odd are you seriously ok?" He asked suspicious. Thoughts raced through my head trying to figure out a logical excuse.

I composed myself as much as I could and said, "My throat tightens up when I have a panic attack. Just give me a couple minutes, and ill be outside".

He let out an annoyed sigh. "Alright then, but dont run out on us again. You had all of us worried" he said standing up and began to walk away.

Eventually his steps ceased along with the sound of a door shutting and I let out a sigh of relief.

I looked down to see that my claws had dug into the side stall doors and cringed. Well, it wasn't me.

I then allowed my wings to slightly expand a bit which stretched my shirt causing it to slightly rip a bit but wouldn't be too noticable.

I took a couple minutes to compose myself.

Eventually the dark blue scales around my body retracted along with my wings.

I slowly opened the stall door and made my way out the bathroom a bit  surprised to see Josh still next to the bathroom door.

"Are you alright? Im just making sure" he asked looking at me worried. I nodded walking ahead, "yeah, the first day of university was a bit overwhelming so don't worry about it".

He nodded and we soon made it back into the club in which I was met with questioning stares which made me a bit uncomfortable.

Sofia slowly walked over and put her hand on my shoulder obviously feeling bad.

"Hey, don't run out on us on the first day alright" she said giving half a smile.

I rubbed the back of my head nodding and made my way to the my seat noting the awkward silence.

Somehow, Sam managed to liven up the atmosphere with her extroverted personality and the mood slowly returned back to normal.

By then I took my leave and let Josh know I was going back to the dorm. There was only one class today as the other was canceled for the day.
