Focus: Red and Shadow sharing a nostalgic vibe while out with fireflies

"Do you remember doing this as kids?" Red asked, turning to Shadow. He had a habit of blurting out thoughts without thinking how others might react.

Shadow scowled, thinking back to when he was just a, well, shadow that only followed. "Kinda," he replied.

"Do you remember how?"

"Dude, I've literally never done this myself."

"Oh," Red felt crestfallen, but ever the optimist, quickly changed to cheery. "I'll teach you!"

Both Reds eagerness to be friendly with him and the clanking from the kitchen back inside the house surprised him. Sure he always wanted to be noticed, but to be friendly with a former enemy was an odd thing. The kind of odd thing that he figured only Red could pull off.

Red scanned the yard, settling on a target. Trotted to the general area and moved his arm in a way that resembled a snake, his hand shaped like a scoop. Shadow thought he looked silly.

"You look silly."

"This is how you do it though. If you put your hand in front of them, they'll - oh, come on-" some grunts of frustration as the bug flew higher and out of reach "they'll usually land on you."

"Uh huh," Shadow sounded unimpressed

"You try!"

Red watched Shadow as he audibly gasped and stars filled his eyes. It was unfair how he caught a firefly so quickly. He'd never seen a firefly up close. A sleek black body looked like a dried up pea pod, a red head, and a soft yellow glowing abdomen. Having it in his hand felt as magical a a fairy, without the harsh light.
