Chapter 12: Larrys an asshole

-

The car ride to larry's house was one of the most awkward and uncomfortable situations Tee had ever been in, with Larry asking her question after question, and her refusing to answer, and hopper yelling at him to shut up the whole time.

She was thankful to be out of the car when they arrived, staring at the huge house as the three adults joined her and walked towards it. Joyce turned to look at the girl who was still staring at the house in shock, before chuckling and gesturing her over.

Tee finally snapped out of her trance and ran over to Joyce as the two men entered the house, Tee and Joyce following behind.

"Wow, I love the place, Lar," Hopper said smacking the chandelier above his head, Tee grabbed Joyce's arm as she looked at the zebra rug on the floor. Did this man kill animals.

"Hey, you shoot that fella yourself?" Hopper asks, also looking at the rug as the three followed the mayor up the stairs.

"W-why would you do that?" Tee mumbled to herself as she continued up the stairs, Joyce pulling her along as her eyes refused to move off the rug.

"That's... That's not real," Larry told them as he got to the top of the stairs

"No shit!" Hopper exclaimed sarcastically as they followed him into the master bedroom and over to a safe. Larry opened it and passed hopper a huge pile of documents. Tee looked over his arm from behind him, confused at what the documents entailed.

"All right, so what exactly are we looking at?" Hopper asked him.

"Land deeds, transfers of property," he answered.

"So your buddies at Starcourt, they suddenly start buying up all this property," Hopper says as Tee looks around the room - maybe that had something to do with the Russian Dustin and Steve were trying to make her translate, "They tell you why?"

"I already told you, they don't tell me anything," Larry tells him as he wipes his bloody nose.

"They're just using you, I get it," hopper says as Joyce grabs the files off of him to look herself, "What I don't get is why you have a bunch of land deeds in a safe in your bedroom."

"These people, Jim, they're bad news," Larry tells him with a sigh as Tee finally walks back over to Joyce and Hopper.

"So, what, this is blackmail?" Hopper asks him.

"Protection," Larry mumbles.

"Protection?" Tee asked him with wide eyes.

"Hold on a second," Joyce mumbles, looking over the files.

"Hey, what is it?" Hopper asks walking after her as she leaves the room, leaving Tee and Larry alone.

Larry snuffed awkwardly as he watched Tee mess with the stress ball on his desk. She noticed him staring, and looked up slowly, glaring at him.

"Jim good to you?" He asks her, and she nods, looking back down at the ball in her hands, "good. You never heard this, but I'm glad. After his dead daughter-"

"Don't talk about her," Tee snaps at him.

"Oh? Are you jealous? That he's not your biological dad?" He says with a smirk, seeing a soft spot, Tee looks at him incredulously. How dare he think that?

"No," Tee shakes her head, "how dare you? W-what happened to Sarah wasn't his fault, and you don't even have the respect to use her name! you're an a-Asshole," she snaps, storming out of the room and over to hopper and Joyce who were talking.

"Tee? What's wrong?" Hopper said grabbing her arm as she stormed past them, "Tee?"

"He's an asshole!" She shouts at the both of them, as electricity cracks over her hands, "I'll be in t-the car, I don't wanna b-be in the same room as him."

And with that she walked down the stairs and out of the house.
