Cole has grown up as a single child raised by only his father. He had no idea of what happened to his mother until he was about 11 or 12 when his father had gotten what seemed to be deathly ill and finally told him how his mother had died giving birth.
His father has since fully recovered and is in the best health he’s been in for years. They share an amazing relationship compared to how things used to be. He had suffered beatings, drunken outbreaks, choke slams… as if his mother’s death was all his fault.

But the story ultimately starts after a nice calm night with father on the weekend. It was also my birthday so also the 17th anniversary of mom’s passing.
I didn’t want anything big, didn’t want friends invited… just really wanted to spend some quality time with dad and hopefully get a few new memories out of him for my birthday.
Enjoyed hours of music at the bonfire and of course talking about mother as we always do now… bonding over the everlasting beauty that she has blessed our memories with. Living dad’s memories as if they were mine. Celebrating the life that she had given us and the bond we have finally grown to endure.

After a long night of fun and celebration… Cole headed to bed and picked up his five by five framed photo of his mother and gave her a kiss… “I never got to meet you mom, but I miss you and really wish I was able to meet you some day.”
No sooner did Cole set the photo back on his night stand, he had fallen soundly asleep.
