His Mistake

Chapter 8

Alma's POV

"What do you want?" She asked him as she opened the door to him.
"Alma, why are you doing this?" Daniel asked her. "Don't you miss the times we spent together?"

She hissed. "No I don't. You have got some flipping nerve. After everything you did to me."

"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have cheated."

"You think I'm like this just because you cheated? Daniel you ruined my life. You weren't sorry about that and you still aren't." Feeling the tears coming, she stood up. "Get out. Please."

She heard the door. It was Ae Ra.

"Alma, I'm here, why..." She stopped when she saw Daniel on his knees. "What is happening here? Why the hell is he here?"

"Unni he was just leaving."
"Why are you crying?" Ae Ra's anger began to build up. "Did you touch her?"
"Unni calm down, he didn't do anything."Alma looked down at Daniel and said. "Get out before she gets to you."

Knowing what she was capable of doing, Daniel got to his feet and headed for the door, he stopped and looked back. "I'm not going to give up on you."

Ae Ra's POV

"That piece of sh*t. How dare he?"
Alma broke down in tears.
"It's hurts so much unni, sometimes I think I'm over it but I'm not."

"I know honey. He ruined a lot, not just your heart." Ae Ra said. "I think you should tell Jungkook about it. You've been together for a couple of months. It's time he knows."
Alma nodded in response.

Jungkook's POV

He was worried. When Alma spoke to him over the phone, she sounded bad, it broke his heart.

"We need to talk. It's important." She had said. "I'm on my way to your house."

What could it be? He thought. Did I do something wrong?
The door bell interrupted his thoughts. He jumped to his and opened it and came face to face with a sad Alma.
She had been crying.

"What is it?" He helped her in "Who did this?"

She opened her mouth to talk but she couldn't. The tears took over.

"Oh my God." He didn't know what to do. "Don't cry, please. Talk to me. Did I do something?"

She shook her head, took a deep breath and started.
"I need to tell you about my past."

Alma's POV

"Back home in Canada, I met Daniel Choi in school. He was handsome and cool and everything I thought I wanted in a man. We began and dating and I was so happy and after graduation from college, he decided to return to Korea. He asked me to marry him and I agreed and decided to move to Korea with him.
We lived together and everything was going smoothly for us and one day I found out I was pregnant."

Jungkook's eyes widened but he didn't say anything.

"I was happy and he was too. I thought. When I was four months gone, I found out he was cheating on me. At first I wanted to let it slide because of our baby but when things became too much to bear, I confronted him.
I was angry, and pained and tired. We argued for a long time and then out of anger he pushed me down the stairs.

She paused and sniffed, trying to hold back tears.

"When I woke up I found myself in the hospital and my baby was gone... alongside my womb. I was told I couldn't have kids again."

After the narration, she broke down in tears. "I was stupid because even when I was asked how it happened, I told them I fell. I protected that monster till the end and now I regret it."

Jungkook's POV

"I love you no matter what. I don't know what the future holds but if we end up married we can always adopt. I'll love you regardless. Okay?" He held her hands.
Alma was crying hard. Jungkook couldn't bear it, he held her close and cried with her.
