Huey's POV --
I woke up the next day, to the sound of my cell opening again. "Huey Freeman? Your bail has been posted." My eyes crack open as I drop down from the top bunk. I follow the guard as she guides me.
She hands me a bag of my stuff back. "Stay out of trouble." She said before walking off. I walked out of the police station, seeing an all black SUV parked out front. A man stepped out of the vehicle and approached me.
"I'm assuming you know why i'm here? Boss wants to me with you, see if it's worth his while." The man said. I nodded and followed him to the SUV. I climbed inside the car and we drove off. It was a silent ride, he didn't really say a lot.
We drove for a bit, I saw that we were in the ghetto after awhile. We stopped in front a bar named "Lucky's" We climbed out of the vehicle and went into bar.
He lend me to the back of the bar, and my eyes were met with a man who was playing cards with three other men. Two men were standby, with a bulge in their waistbands.
What have I got myself into?
"This is the boy?" One man said, with a strong Jamaican accent. The man who took me here nodded and left the room.
The man looked at me. "Sit down, boy." I immediately took a seat. "So, you muss be, Huey den? Dey call me the Birdie... I heard you needed some help, but you have to make it worth my while boy." He said, looking me in my eyes for the first time.
"I hope you're ready for this kind of ting." I quickly nod my head, I wanted my revenge. Annoying as my brother was, he was family same for my Granddad.
"Okay boy. I want you to prove your worth to me den. I got dis bitch, who I did favors for her, but she ain' puttin' out. So, I want you to ride ova there and put some act right into her." He said, coldly.
"What? No." I agreed
"What'd you say boy? You are in no place to be refusing my orders. Now, you take your black ass out of my bar and get it done. Or you'll join your family nigga."
He was right, I couldn't say no. I hung my head and shame. "I'll do it." I got up and left the backroom. My "Chauffeur" was waiting for me outside the door. He followed me back to the car and we both got in.
He didn't show no sympathy and drove to where he was told. He arrived in front of an apartment building. "Room 34, don't take too long... Oh and here." He reached into his jacket and pulled out a gun. "Jus incase."
I grabbed the gun, and shoved it down my waistband. I climbed out of the car and walked into the apartment building. I went past the receptionist doing her nails, she side- glanced me before going back to her nails.
I got into the elevator and went up. I started thinking how I'd approach this woman. 'Ay, bitch get dah fuck in the car!' I thought. "Nah, too much like Riley."
The elevator opens up and he began walking down the hallways. He stopped on front of the door. "Room 34." I whispered. I make my hand into a fist and begin banging on the door. "Open the door!" I yell. I hear a bit of rustling going on in the apartment.
A white girl with braids opened up the door up a little. "Who you?" The girl said. "You coming with me, you owe Birdie a favor." She scrunched up her face. "You tell his mothafuckin-.." I kicked the open fully. I barged into the apartment.
"Looks like you didn't hear me." I said to her, annoyed. I don't know where this anger is coming from... But, it didn't stop me... Just then a man walked out from the bedroom. "Ay!" He yelled, before walking over to the scene.
