Cheryl's pov

Second period had just started and everyone had settled down. Cheryl sat at her desk twirling her pen in between her fingers. She looked to her left side out the open window and to her right at an empty desk.

Mr. Pearson walked in the classroom with worksheets in his hand.

"Class, we are now going to welcome two new students from Southside high," the teacher said as one of the students walked in.

He was tall and had dark greasy hair and a sharp jawline. He wore ripped jeans and a rock band shirt cover by a black leather jacket with a southside serpent logo on the back.

A short pink haired girl followed him. She wore black skinny jeans and the same leather jacket covered a black and white striped teeshirt.

"Take a seat you two" the teacher pointed to the desks.

The tall one sat a few rows behind Cheryl which was the only other empty desk left. The short pink haired girl sat in the last free desk right next to Cheryl.

She's probably some sort of drug dealer or con artist

Cheryl thought to herself looking over at her. The pink haired girl turned her head and they made eye contact.

Who knew they could be so pretty tho- no don't think that Cheryl

She stopped herself. She didn't just think that and she never will because she shouldn't, right?

Toni's pov

Toni never got a good look at Cheryl's eyes. They were big and dark like black holes. She felt like she could get pulled into them. She mustered up as much confidence as she could to talk to her.

"Hi I'm Toni," she grinned.

Cheryl let out a groan so loud that Toni could clearly tell she was faking it.

"If we must know each other on a first name basis," she said annoyed "I'm Cheryl Blossom aka Cheryl Bombshell which means all you need to know is that I'm pretty much a big deal around here," she said with a cocky grin.

Cheryl seemed to have confidence and fire, Toni liked that.

"Well I'm liking this school so far," she gave Cheryl a playful smirk.

"Urghh.. why did you, snakes have to come slithering to Riverdale High," Cheryl said miffed.

Sweetpea wasn't wrong, she didn't seem to be too fond of the Serpents.

"I guess you're stuck with us," Toni teased. Cheryl just rolled her eyes.

Toni needed to say something to get Cheryl to ignore the fact that she's in a gang. Cheryl seemed like the type to love parties, so she decided to start that conversation.

"Are you going to the party at.. what was it called.." Toni snapped her fingers trying to remember where the party was taking place ".. Thorn Hill... I think it was called" she whispered to herself "Yeah... Thorn Hill, you going?"

Cheryl let out a small scoff "You do realize I live there right?"

"Oh really, wow I'm dumb for asking," Toni said a bit embarrassed.

"Yeah.. you are," Cheryl said playfully.

Toni felt a certain feeling when she was talking with Cheryl. Like a connection or a spark, you could say. She wondered if Cheryl felt it too.

All of a sudden, Cheryl stopped smiling and turned to face the front of the classroom. It was so sudden and Cheryl didn't say a word.

Did I do something wrong? Did she see something she didn't like? Why did she just turn away?

Toni turned back to her own desk and started working on her worksheet still thinking about the redhead.

Cheryl's pov

Stop looking at her that way Cheryl! She's a gang member, a felon and who knows what she's on. And she's a GIRL! You know what happened when mother found out about Heather

Just the thought of Cheryl's junior high girlfriend was too much for her and her eyes started to tear up. She got up and asked to go to the restroom before she started crying. She didn't want to cry in front of the class again.

She went into the restroom to find it empty luckily. She stood in front of the mirror and looked at herself.

Why do I feel this way.. is it wrong.. mother says it is but she's wrong about a lot of things. The last time I felt this way towards a girl.. mother and father almost sent me away, but I had Jason to protect me.. and now he's gone..

A tear from her left eye slowly dripped down her cheek. More tears dripped down and Cheryl started to cry softly letting out a sniffle every now and then.

Her mascara and eyeliner were a mess now and her cheeks were as red as her skirt. She wanted the pain to stop, all of it to end.. but it never went away.
