Pokémon Sword and Shield Oneshots!

You hummed quietly to yourself as you walked among the Wild Area. It was probably your favorite place to be in all of Galar. The wonderful Pokémon and breathtaking scenery is what made it so amazing to you. As you picked up your phone to shuffle your music, you swore you heard something in the distance.

"(Y/N)!!!" You could hear Hop calling your name behind you. You swiftly turned around to see him running towards you. He put his hands on his knees in order to catch his breath. "I haven't seen you in forever!" He exclaimed.

You took out your earbuds. "Hop, it's been like two hours," You said as you put your hands on your hips. He had a huge smile on his face.

"Exactly! That's forever!" Seeing his signature grin just gave you butterflies in your stomach.

You've had a crush on Hop for quite a while now; You guys have been friends since birth and see each other nearly every day, so it's only natural that you've begun to like him as more than a friend. As much as you wanted to confess your feelings, you and Hop's relationship meant the world to you, and you didn't want to risk ruining it.

You smiled back in return. "Well what did you run all the way here for?"

He took his hands off his knees. "Oh yeah! Well, I know that working on completing the Gym Challenge has been really stressful for the both of us, so... I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me tonight?"

You could feel your face heating up. "G-go out with you?"

His eyes widened. "Oh! I d-didn't mean it that way! We could just go as friends! Unless... you wanted to go on a date like that..." He said the last part so quietly that you almost didn't hear it. The way that he blushed nervously was absolutely adorable.

"Actually, if it's alright... I'd love to go on a date with you!" You said happily. Hop looked at you, surprised that you'd actually accepted.

"Yay! It's a date then!" He cried, tackling you with a hug. You both fell over into the grass and laughed. It was the nicest feeling you've ever felt.

Once you'd both recovered from your laughing fit, you were laying down with your faces inches apart. Your eyes locked with his, and you couldn't help but smile like an idiot.

"Meet me at my place at 6, kay? I want to take you somewhere, but it's a surprise," He whispered, not breaking eye contact.

"Whatever you say," You replied with a grin. He leaned in and gave you a quick kiss on your forehead. You blushed as he smiled at you lovingly.

~time skip to 3 hours later~

You finished applying your mascara and took a step back to admire yourself in the mirror. You looked beautiful! The top you had chosen complemented your eyes really well, not to mention how wonderful your hair and makeup looked. You looked at your phone to see what time it was, and it read 5:47. Grabbing your bag, you quickly made your way out the front door and down the road to Hop's house.

He opened the door with a huge grin, hugging you yet again. You had to admit, this guy gave the best hugs in the world.

"You look beautiful (Y/N)!" He said, burying his face into the crook of your neck. Your face flushed as you hugged him back.

"Thanks! You don't look too bad yourself," You said with a laugh. Although what you said was definitely an understatement; you thought Hop looked extremely handsome, but you wouldn't be able to bring yourself to say it out loud.

The two of you walked down the stone pathway to Wedgehurst. Hop led the way. As you two walked through the small town, you took the opportunity to intertwine your fingers with his. You could see him smiling in your peripheral vision as he squeezed your hand gently.

You took a turn through Route 2, but it was down a path you had never seen before. "Hop, i sincerely hope you dont get us lost."

"Oh come on (Y/N), I'm not like Lee! I have a pretty good memory and sense of direction ya know," He exclaimed. After walking for what seemed like hours, Hop finally said, "(Y/N!) We're here!"

You didn't get it. You two stood in front of a couple big bushes surrounded by trees.

"Uh... and what is here exactly?" You asked.

"Right this way," He said with a wink as he slipped in between the bushes. Luckily for you, it was too dark outside for Hop to see the blush that dusted your cheeks.

You followed him through and gasped at what you saw. There was a large blanket spread over the grass with a two picnic baskets and some drinks placed in the center. All around were candles and lanterns, each with a few roses and other assorted flowers laying next to them. Fairy lights were strung across the trees. It was one of the most spectacular things you've ever seen in your life.

"Do you like it? I literally spent hours making it... I wanted to make sure it looked beautiful, just like you," He said, turning to look at you with a soft smile on his face.

You wanted to cry. He did all of this for you? Did you really mean this much to him? "Hop! I LOVE IT! I love it so much! You're the best, thank you so so so much!"

You embraced him once more. He was so warm and soft, you could hug him forever. "I love you," You whispered into his ear.

"I love you more," He replied as he looked you in the eyes and smiled.
