Pillow fights and maybe moments

I turned to see Keefe armed and ready, a pillow in his hand and a smile on his face. I looked down and saw the pillow at my feet
"You are so on, sencen!" I screamed, picking up the pillow and grinning
"Uh, uh Foster. Remember what I said about the last names? It's my thing!"  He told me, shaking his head slightly. I took a few quick steps forward and tried to hit him, but he ducked at the last second. "Wow, already trying to play dirty? Hit me while I wasn't looking?" I swung again, this time actually hitting him
"Hey, it actually shut you up!" I tried my best at a smirk, but he just hit me with his pillow
"You're going down!" He challenged
"How about you let your pillow do the talking?" I asked him, swinging and hitting him in the shoulder and ducking before he could hit me back. We went around, hitting each other and laughing like crazy, until my sides hurt and my face was sore.

"You're not gonna get away!" He warned me. I was in the living room, cornered. He swung, but I tucked and rolled, hearing a crash as I went around him. I looked back and saw the statue that I had commented on earlier on the ground, it's head had skitted across the floor, now separate from the rest of it. I looked at it in silence. Keefe didn't say anything, and I felt awful
"I'm so-" before I could finish he shouted,
"Thank god!" He pumped his arms in the air, looking like he won the lottery
"Um, what?" I was utterly confused
"I can finally get rid of that stupid thing! I've always hated it, but I've never had an good enough excuse to get rid of it. My mom loves it, and she wanted me to have it when I came here to 'grant me grace, wisdom, and luck' or some bull shit" he explained
"Oh. Well, you're welcome? We should probably quit before we break something that you do care about" I threw my pillow back on his bed
"Good idea. That was fun, though. What else do you want to do"  he did the same, turning to me
"How about we play some music? I have way too much adrenaline to just sit down right now" I suggested, starting to pull up my hair in a pony tail.
"Okay, I can do dance music" he picked up his phone, fiddling around with it "oh, I have surround sound, just so you don't get to surprised" he told me, right as the song started playing. I knew this one! Me and Edaline used to have dance party's when I was first adopted, as her way of bonding. It was fun, and we even worked out some choreography for our favorites, which this one was. I started walking like a model, hand on my hips as the other one fanned my face
"Hey baby won't you look my way, I could be your new addiction" I launched into the dance as I sang, partly out loud and partly lip syncing. This was one of Edalines favorites, so we worked out something for the full song. Right before the chorus I grabbed Keefe, putting my back to his chest, criss crossing his arms around my torso. I looked up at him and saw him smiling, singing along as well. I was about to turn away as he looked at me, and we made eye contact. I stopped singing, just staring into those captivating ice blue eyes. The music sounded far away now, and I felt this light pull to him. We both leaned in, little by little.
"It started with a whisper, and that was when I kissed her!" Neon trees were going at it, but me and Keefe were a hairs breath away. Kissed. That's what we were about to do.I snapped out of it, pulling away and shaking my head for what felt like the twentieth time that day. I found the place in the music and started to dance again, singing as if nothing had happened. Because nothing had happened. We weren't about to kiss, that was just the song influencing me and how horrible I was at reading boys. That's it. Me and Keefe were friends, we had just met! I could still feel that light pull to him, but I kept my distance.

Once the song was done I sat down, wiping a bit of sweat off my forehead.
"That was.... something" Keefe said. He had done the exact same thing as I had, just jumped back into the music. But now he seemed slightly dazed.
"Oh, that was nothing. You should see my mom, she's a amazing dancer." I told him. Because he had to be talking about the music. Not the moment. Because it wasn't a moment. Right? Keefe cleared his throat
"Oh. I'll have to meet her sometime, then." Keefe sounded weird, but it was fine. Everyone was fine.
"Yeah! You'd love her. She makes the best cookies, and she always has the best advice" I told him, because he really would love her. And her cookies are the best thing in the world.
"Well, she'd have to be pretty amazing to give birth to someone like you" Keefe smirked
"Well... uh actually she uh" my voice caught for a second, and I cleared my throat "she's not my biological mom, I'm adopted" I almost never told anyone that. But it felt like me and Keefe had been friends for years, and I really trusted him. He was easy for me to open up to.
"Oh, I'm sorry. Do you mind me asking what happened?" He had a gentle tone
"Yeah, my bio mom and dad died in a car crash when I was 11. My sister, too. Grady and Edaline weren't really looking to adopt because their biological daughter had just tragically died in a fire, but since Biana's dad works for the government, specifically working with the public body, he told them about me, thought we'd be a perfect fit. I guess he had a good intuition" I smiled, trying not to bring the mood down.
"I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have asked, that was rude of me-" I cut him off
"No, it's okay. I guess I'm just... used to it" I shrugged
"You shouldn't have to get used to it" Keefe whispered
"Thanks. I'm okay though, I really am" I said, trying really hard not to scoot closer to him.
"Good" he said, looking over at me and smiling the cutest smile ever. But, like in a friend way......okay, fine, he's cute. Like, really really cute. And I didn't have an excuse that time.
