It took me a few seconds to realize I was the one who yelled, and the only reason I figured it out was because all eyes were on me. "Enough." I whispered again, tugging on a itchy eyelash. I blew out a breath and worked up enough courage to ask "Fitz, what do you mean by you've tried for a year?" He snorted in response, looking away
"Dude, she's serious. Have you met her? She's oblivious" Keefe told him. Fitz glared back, his nostrils flaring as his breaths got quick and shallow, and I could tell his anger was about to take over
"Never mind" I told him, picking up my purse and jacket "I'm leaving anyway. I'm sorry about tonight, bi. It should have been fun" I started quickly walking out, almost all heads turning as I walked past. Great, my worse nightmare. We created a scene. I heard someone calling my name, fallowing me. I tried to ignore it, but I couldn't when a Gentle hand grabbed my shoulder
"Sophie, are you okay?" Keefe asked me, concern written all over his face
"No, thanks to you and Fitz" I ripped myself away, doubling my pace and walking briskly to the parking lot, not looking back. I sat in the car, remembering that I had to wait for Biana. After a few minutes, she opened the door, sliding in and immediately starting the engine.
"I'm so sorry" I told her "so so sorry. I didn't- it shouldn't have turned into a fight. Its my fault" I whispered, barely audible over the roar of her crappy old car.
"Yeah, god Sophie. You seriously have to stop being so irresistible" she rolled her eyes and cracked a smile, one that I met without too much effort "but seriously, it's not your fault. It was all on my idiot brother and your husband" Biana winked, and I smiled again
"Can you believe him? I asked him to keep to keep it subtle, and as soon as he shows up he kisses me! It's like a constant war between them, if only I could figure out the cause. They've been like that since they met, it's ridiculous" I vented, fricken annoyed over tonight
"Sweetie, as much as we all love your adorable obliviousness, I gotta tell you. It's over you." Biana said, keeping her eyes on the road. Me. Me....me? No. She's wrong, of course. It can't be. Biana must have seen my eyebrows scrunch in the mirror, because she added "babe, Fitz has liked you for around a year now and Keefe's had it bad for you since the day you met. It's written all over him. The way he looks at you, talks to you, talks about you. It's really cute honestly" she says sighing "I wish I had two hot guys fighting over me" I snort
"No way" I say
"Oh yeah. Fitz told me, and Keefe told you. By the way, please don't say that I told you. He'd kill me, even if he basically said himself" we pull into the dorm lot, and she puts her hand on my knee "I think you have two big conversations to have, buts let's do that tomorrow, okay? You need rest"

*********

"We need to talk" I crossed my arms and tried my best at a stern expression. Keefe had just opened the door, and his eyebrows shot up at my cold voice
"Of course" he opened the door fully, letting me in. As we sat down on the couch I got a good look at his face, and the dark circles around his eyes and tangled hair make me put my walls down for a second
"Did you sleep at all last night?" I asked, reaching gingerly for his face. He swatted my hand away, smiling
"Look at you, all worried bout me" he tried a smirk, but after looking at me his facade crumbled, his shoulders slumping "no" he admitted
"Why? Are you feeling okay?" I ring my hands in my lap, half of me wanting to look at him and the other half wanting to look anywhere but. The latter won, so I focused my gaze on his bookshelf.
"I was tossing and turning, wondering how badly I had messed up with you" he told me, scratching the back of his head
"That's what I'm here for. To ask you, HOW FUCKING STUPID YOU ARE" I yell, my temper taking over for a second "sorry.... I'm just mad. What were you thinking?" I asked him
"I'm really really sorry, Foster. I just wanted to make him feel jealous. I guess I underestimated how bad his anger issues were..." he trailed off, looking defeated
"Yeah, you did" I glared, but my gaze softened once I actually looked at him "it's okay, though. I appreciate the apology, and I'm less angry now that I yelled. We're still..... a thing" I told him
"So, um. About that.... I was maybe thinking we should define that a little more? Like... a boyfriend-girlfriend thing?" Half of me wanted to yell at his about how absolutely fantastic his timing was. Yes, ask me that right after we got into a fight. The other half wanted to jump up and down and scream yes, yes, yes! Bianas voice popped into my head, reminding me of something she's told me a million times: never make a decision when you're high on a certain emotion. Angry Sophie has very different opinions then happy or depressed Sophie.
"I shouldn't answer that right now. We're not in a bad place, but definitely not the greatest one ever. Give me a little time and space, okay? I know I've asked for a lot of time with you, but I swear I'll give you an answer soon" I tell him, slowly getting up and walking backwards to the door "but I should go now. Goodbye, Keefe. Again, thanks for the apology" I put a hand on the door knob, twisted it and walked out into the hallway in one of the most ungraceful exits ever
"No problem, Foster" is the last thing I heard before I close the door
