"Where to now?" Zoey walked alongside the pirate, her head swiveling around to take in the sights.
"We're headed to the Captive Creeper, it's a favorite spot of the people we're trying to find."
They were heading further in towards the center of the first tier. Market stalls lined the streets and vendors called out their wares to passerby. There were food stalls, armor and weapon shops, and places selling every other item under the sun. Colorful signs hung like banners and a few store fronts were decked in little flags to draw attention to the shop within. Most of the doors were left open in the pleasant weather, and children sat on doorsteps enjoying treats bought by parents. Tee had his tail resting up against his back to avoid being stepped on by the many beings inhabiting the roads. Zoey caught sight of several individuals wearing goggles, and many more that weren't; this place was a true melting pot.
They came up to an L-shaped building that had been squished in between two shops. The bricks colored with a deep red with a shade of purple. The roof was made out of a mixture of red and orange which appeared to be wood; though the roofs were sloped, the roofs of the buildings next door were flat, forming an odd sort of shape. Beside the door hung a sign that pictured a tall, green creature in a cage.
"That's it." Walking through the open door, Rythian led them to a pub that was much busier than the one they had visited earlier.
Patrons sat chatting at tables made of polished stone, and servers bustled here and there with delicious smelling food. The interior of the Captive Creeper was cheerily lit, and the inside of the building was much more spacious than the outside suggested. Laughter drew Zoey’s attention to the back corner of the pub, where a huge L-shaped booth and table took up the entire area; around it were seated the most motley group of people the woman had ever set eyes on.
"That's who we've come to meet." Rythian murmured.
At the very center of the chaos were two men. The first was tall and thin, with a narrow face and piercing blue eyes; a well-trimmed beard framed an angular chin, and his chocolate brown hair fell slightly into his eyes. The red coat he wore was reminiscent of a buccaneer’s, though the shirt he wore beneath it was striped blue and white; across his chest was a strap that supported a sheathed sword which rested across his back. The other man was the complete opposite, short and squat: a dwarf of the mountains. A horned helmet sat over a mane of fiery red hair that cascaded into a magnificent beard which reached to the middle of the dwarf’s chest. A small button nose sat under blue eyes and above a mouth that was inclined towards grinning widely; though the dwarf wore no shirt, he did have shoulder guards and a large pickaxe strapped to his back. Both men were wearing goggles; the tall one had his perched up on his head, and the dwarf’s were strapped to his helmet. The goggles seemed different somehow, like they were giving off a slight radiance.
"That's Xephos and Honeydew, though to their friends they're Lewis and Simon." Rythian spoke quietly to Zoey. "They were here at the founding of Tortuga, and they're the leaders of out little group. Lewis and Simon are inseperable, and they pilot The Shadow of Israphael. They're both honorary Skylords as well, which is the reason why their goggles look different."
Lewis turned and nudges a girlto his right, she was tall and fair, with long blond hat that flowed out from an owl face shaped hat. Her eyes were also blue like hers, though with a lighter shade than that of the long-sleeve she wore; her face was kind, adn her eyes danced with mischief. Her goggles were around her neck like most.
"Lomadia." Rythian followed Zoey's gaze, "Though we call her Hannah; Lewis is her boyfriend."
"So she sails with him and Simon?"
