Part 24 - Delta command

Your POV:
O5-1: So, if I get this correctly, Delta command from Chaos Insurgency wants to meet with you and finally end this war between us?

Y: Yea, but to be honest, I feel like this may be a trap.

O5-1: Yes, I am aware of that. But you have already agreed, so you don't have other choice.

Y: I know, what should I do?

O5-1: You will meet with their representative and you will try to end this peacefully. Our forces will be nearby and they will make sure that the area is safe.

Y: Ok, but what if somebody tries to shot me?

O5-1: We will make you unkillable.

Y: How?

O5-1: Long time ago, somebody made an experiment with SCP 294, and he ordered "cup of temporary immortality". He was resistant to all damage for 24 hours. You will order and drink that before the meeting, so even if something goes wrong, you will be safe.

Y: Alright, I will try that.

*Two weeks later*
Your POV:
You drank the liquid from the cup. It had a sweet taste.

K: So, you are immortal now, right?

Y: For 24 hours, but we still have to try that.

K: How?

Y: Try to cut my hand with your claws.

K: No, I am not going to hurt you!

Y: You will not, if that works, you will not leave a single mark on my skin.

K: ... No.

Y: Fine, then I will do it myself.

K: What do you mean?

Y: *Takes a knife and tries to cut his hand* See? Nothing happened.

K: *Takes the knife from his hand and puts it away* And what if that didn't work?!

Y: Then I would have a wounded hand.

K: ... Please, don't do that again.

Y: Alright, I will not.

MTF: Sir, the helicopter is waiting.

Y: Ok, lets go. Bye honey!

K: Bye, please, be careful!

You and small group of MTFs boarded the helicopter and flew to the place, were you were supposed to meet with one of members od Delta command. After you landed, the commander said:

C: Alright, go to that restaurant, and we will wait outside.

Y: Just make sure that nobody recognizes you.

You head to the restaurant and approached the waiter.

Y: Excuse me, did he arrive already?

W: It depends on who are you waiting sir.

Y: *You show your ID* I am waiting for a member of Delta command, we are supposed to talk about few things.

W: Ah! Yes, he is already here, table for two people number 18.

Y: Alright, thank you.

You came to the table and saw, that somebody was already sitting there. He looked at you and asked:

???: So, you really came?

Y: Your people said that you wanted to meet with me.

J: Correct. My name is James, what is yours?

Y: They all call me O5-9, my real identity is known only to my closest friends and family.

J: I am aware of that, but I don't want to call you O5-9 in our discussion.

Y: Fine, the name is Y/N.

J: Alright Y/N, take a seat.

You sat on a free chair.

Y: So, why did you want to talk with me?

J: I will be honest with you. Our people are sick of these fights. They want peace. Especially after this attack 5 years ago.

Y: On site 28...

J: Yes, this one. We have lost so many people and the commander who was our spy died. After that defeat, we stopped all the attacks, but we got attacked by your MTFs.

Y: It was hard to find your bases. All of the commanders were looking for them for few years.

J: Yea, I have realised that. Eleven attacks on our bases in one day couldn't be done without previous preparations. After these attacks, we had huge rebelions. They all wanted to stop with this agression and live in peace.

Y: And what was the reaction of Delta command on that?

J: We didn't know what to do. After this attack, we have lost a lot of staff and SCPs. We called a meeting and decided, that it is time to stop all of that.

Y: And that's why we are here.

J: Not really, most of Delta command still saw your foundation as a danger. Until that monster arrived.

Y: SCP 2317.

J: When we saw him coming to that city, we started preparing our SCPs to fight him. We were watching news to see what is happening, and then we saw, that you guys already took care of that.

Y: It is a miracle that we have defeated him.

J: But you still did that and saved humanity. And the entire Delta command saw that in television! So we have decided, that it is time to make a peace and end these fights. But to be honest, we still don't trust you, so our soldiers are watching this building and making sure, that nothing bad happens.

Y: ... Our MTFs are also there. If they find out about that, they are going to kill each other!

J: ... Then lets stop them!

You and James ran outside the building to check, if they are still alive. When you openned the door, you saw, that they are drinking some beer.

MTF commander: *Hides beer* Sir, it isn't like you think...

Y: I will allow that this time, I am glad that you didn't kill each other.

CI commander: To be honest, I have expected that you will also be protected, so it wasn't a surprise for me. By the way, what is the decision?

J: We are ending this pointless war. Finish you beer guys and we are coming back.

MTF commander: What about us?

Y: Finish it and then we will go to a helicopter. I hope that the one, who is driving a helicopter is sober.

MTF driver: Don't worry, I didn't drink anything. I hate the taste of beer.

MTF commander: And that is why you are our driver.
