Lies and Secret in a Bliss

Act 2 Scene 1

The following week was a busy one for Yetunde as she had a great deal of work to do and most of the time she would hear of the G. K oil company having a meeting with her , expecting to see Olarotimi but she would meet someone else from the company so she felt he was avoiding her perhaps because she refused to be his friend.

Yetunde: why is he avoiding me

Errand boy: madam,the person you are having a meeting with is coming

Yetunde: thanks

Then she laid her head on her desk knowing it wasn't going to be Olarotimi, just another one of his employees.

Olarotimi: you have a nice office ( smiling seeing her head on the desk then she raised her head up looking at him surprisingly)

Yetunde: you!!!

Olarotimi: yes me

Yetunde: I thought you were avoiding me.

Olarotimi: what!

Yetunde: yes you are, your employees come to the bank instead of you

Olarotimi: I wasn't avoiding you and I have been busy

Yetunde: so you aren't busy today?

Olarotimi: I was but I wanted to see you again that's why I'm here.

Yetunde: okay, I'm sorry for that I really thought it was because of what happened last week I'm really sorry.

Olarotimi: it's okay ( then she stood up and went to the coffee maker) .

Yetunde: so how do you like your coffee wait let me guess a black coffee with no sugars.

Olarotimi: I'm not a diabetic patient a coffee with full cream and 2 cube of sugar.

Yetunde: okay here you go ( then she sat down).

Olarotimi: thanks(collecting the cup of coffee from her).

Yetunde: you are welcome (smiling).

Olarotimi: tell me something you are like an accountant right?

Yetunde: I'm a chattered accountant and you beside being the owner of an oil
company what are you?

Olarotimi: I'm a petroleum engineer and you must be wondering how come he is the owner of a company when he is so young.

Yetunde: yes I do think about it then I concluded perhaps a family business.

Olarotimi: if it was a family business then I would have being the owner of a pharmaceutical company.

Yetunde: you mean your parents don't own an oil company.

Olarotimi: no they don't, my company started off as an idea then it became my goal and all it needed was hardwork, determination, perseverance not to forget

Yetunde: money

Olarotimi: yes

Yetunde: that's amazing

Olarotimi: thank you and I could see you are great at your work

Yetunde: don't be nice ,you met me sleeping just now

Olarotimi: it's the truth, I really mean it ,you really are

Yetunde: thanks by the way tell me the truth,did you really come all the way from your busy world just to see me

Olarotimi: it won't be my secret anymore if I tell you I came since my work here at the bank is done and we won't be coming here anymore

Yetunde: oh yes that's true so it's like a good bye visit

Olarotimi: yeah

Yetunde: well it was nice meeting you

Olarotimi: the same here so I was thinking my friendship request was turned down a week ago and I was wondering now that I'm no longer your current client perhaps you could take a look at that again

Yetunde: you really like getting what you want

Olarotimi: yes I do so please will you be my friend ,you are an amazing lady and I enjoy spending time with you .

Yetunde: I will be your friend Olarotimi

Olarotimi: thank you ( smiling)

Yetunde: you were right wealth or status shouldn't determine friendship so would you like to watch a movie with me at the Cinema on Sunday

Olarotimi: I don't see why not I would love to ( then his P. A came into the office and told him something).

Olarotimi: sorry I have to leave now, it's great having to spend the with you see you on Sunday

Yetunde: yeah bye

Olarotimi: bye( then he left)
