Lies and Secret in a Bliss

Act 3 Scene 1

Yetunde's mum: so how was it?

Yetunde: mum, I messed up tonight, it was going so well until I kissed him and told him I loved him but he didn't reply, he doesn't love me and I told him I did, it's all messed up now. Right now I need painkillers because I'm having a headache due to all of this.

Yetunde's mum: perhaps you got him by surprise.

Yetunde: he could have told me about it but he didn't meaning he doesn't feel the same way I do.

Then she went to her room in tears as she cried on her bed.

Getting to his house, Olarotimi was also in a terrible dilemma.

Olarotimi: how could she do this to me why she told me she loved me but she didn't remember,this means she doesn't love me yet I love her and the kiss it was just for nothing.

Two days later.

Mercy: should we panic?

Shewa: yes we should, you did what!

Yetunde: I kissed him and told him I loved him.

Grace: but did he reply?

Yetunde: no he didn't.

Shewa: so how did you react?

Yetunde: I pretended to have lost conciousness ,it was all I could think of.

Mercy: and you woke up,so how did that save you?

Yetunde: I told him I didn't remember.

Grace: now that's better.

Yetunde: the worst part is I don't think he loves me and that hurts me a lot.

Mercy: so what do you plan on doing.

Yetunde: I plan to get rid of him from my heart and life.

Shewa: and how is that working out for you.

Yetunde: I've been having a lot of sleepless nights about him and lots of headache and whenever he calls,  I tell him I'm busy.

Grace: Good girl, I'm really sorry about what happened.

Yetunde: it's not your fault, it's mine, I shouldn't have fallen in love with him.

Shewa:no don't blame yourself, it's our faults, we pressurized into all this.

Yetunde: well it's not your fault, my heart loved him, thanks for supporting me though and standing by me now.

Mercy : what are friends for?

Yetunde: All he wanted was friendship, maybe he even has a girlfriend perhaps that's where he went for two weeks.

Shewa: thinking that nonsense isn't going to help you, so stop doing it.

Yetunde: thanks.

Each day after the dinner date was like a living hell for Olarotimi as he felt so lost,  during his meetings at work he would appear lost in thought and it wasn't good for him, so his friends tried talking to him.

John: what has happened to you, why are you doing this to yourself.

Olarotimi: she's been avoiding my calls, my texts, she's not talking to me.

Kayode: perhaps she's just busy.

Olarotimi: no she isn't, she's doing this to me on purpose, I tried to see her at her office but her P.A told me she was in a meeting and she wasn't.

John: how did things get this way?

Olarotimi:After we went on a date ,she kissed me and told me she loved me then she fainted and on regaining consciousness, she forgot about what happened, it's like it's meant nothing to her that's when I realized she didn't love me, it was intoxication as a result of the wine we had but I love her so much.

Kayode: perhaps it's because you didn't tell her you loved her, you just wanted her to know, but how would she unless you say something.

Olarotimi: I thought she knew and when I asked her to be my girlfriend she didn't answer me, she told me she was going to think about it meaning she doesn't even love me and who still thinks over that anymore and now from her trying her absolute best avoiding me means she doesn't love me.

John: will you stop sulking over a lady ,man up, you can't let this ruin you, you can't afford to be distracted, okay?

Olarotimi: okay.

But it was wasn't easy, either was it for Yetunde who had been very sad and most times, she would stay up in her room crying, thinking of him for hours.

Yetunde's mum: what exactly did he do to you, my child.

Yetunde: nothing mum, I really missed him, he's stopped calling or texting, it's like everything is over, I feel so sad and lost, I really miss him so much (as she cried holding her pillow while her mum consoled her).

At work she felt sad, empty and shallow and prayed so much for him to just call her but he didn't.
