Orpheus

The amount of tension that's in the room is stifling, everyone is lost in their own thoughts this morning as I look around. Rayne and Victor are sitting together as she watches TV, I've come to the conclusion that she's no longer in adult space, instead it's like a broken child she's become. Can I really blame her though? No. She can be and do anything she wants right now, as long as it makes her somewhat happy and not worrying about dying.

Damien clears his throat, getting our attention. "We're leaving in a couple of minutes, I want to go over a couple of things again. By no means should one of us wander off without another person, stay together at all times. I'm counting on the fact that Vincent will be long gone by now, but we shouldn't underestimate him. Am I clear?" He says.

"Crystal." Victor says and that in turn makes Rayne laugh, I roll my eyes.

Damien's attention lands on the two, more so Rayne. "Rayne, I'm sorry you're having to go through this." He apologizes, sending her a grim smile.

I watch for her reaction, all she does is shrug her shoulders and I sigh.

Damien stands before sending a nod over to Victor in which he returns, I follow Damien outside and around to where Cian is.

Chants are spewed from his mouth as if he possessed and I frown, he hisses as we approach him, jerking against the chains that hold him. "He looks feral." I mutter and Damien agrees.

"Perhaps he is, you know we have to kill him afterwards right?" He states not really in a question yet I know.

"I know..." my words trail off before I walk over to Cian, grabbing his hair I roughly jerk him up. "Why couldn't you have been good, a good mate." I almost scream at him before tossing him to the side in frustration.

Damien sighs out, grabbing the chains and unlocking them from the wall behind Cian, still keeping the chains attached to him. Leading him over to the Van Ian rented us for this special occasion, Mentally rolling my eyes.

Damien throws Cian inside, the chains clatter against the floor of the van that make me cringe. Damien hooks the chains to the wall, making sure they're tight. Even though Cian's hands are already bound, Damien insisted he be chained as well and well here we are.

Cian eyes us warily while on his knees, Damien really did a number on him that day and I smirk, seeing his throat bruised as dried blood still stains it.

Chuckling "Cian, how did it feel to get a taste of your own medicine hmm? Or do you only enjoy inflicting the pain?"

Cian hisses at me, jerking against the chains. I know without a doubt he'd try and kill me any chance he got. I laugh at how pathetic he is.
"Sorry, forgive me. You'd rather have money and power over a Mate, tossing her aside like a piece of trash." He jumps up running towards me only to be jerked back from the chains and I laugh.
I walk closer, getting in his face. "You're pathetic." I draw out the word pathetic, whispering it for him. Enjoying his reaction as he snaps at me, catching nothing but air.

I back away, slamming both of the van doors in his face. Before walking over to the passenger side of the van, tears threaten to fall from my face as I lean against the van. Looking up into the sky I close my eyes, I hear Damien sigh before he walks over, pulling me from the van and into his arms. "It's going to be okay." He says, kissing the top of my head.
