Orpheus part two

My body sags against Damien, eyes slowly dropping as everything becomes blurry while my ears buzz. "Kahlua." Damien's worried voice comes from above, he shakes my shoulders trying to keep me awake.

Suddenly Orpheus's voice comes from my right, sounding somewhat distant yet close. "She's with child Damien." He whispers, sounding happy.

I struggle to stay awake. "What?" I whisper in confusion, opening my eyes briefly to see my mate hovering above me, Orpheus to the right of me.
"That's impossible." Damien says, confusion lacing his voice.

Orpheus reaches over to gently hold my hand in his. "Is it? Listen closely Damien." He laughs lightly.
We both focus, I hold my breath before hearing a soft heartbeat, it's barely there but it is and breathe in deeply.
Reaching up to hold Damien's face, he looks down at me in amazement. "How?" I whisper, confused.

Orpheus answers for us. "Because my lovely Daughter, you're both of Royal Blood. The Moon Goddess has gifted you both." He says, smiling down at me. His face is a picture of pure happiness.

"I'm so happy we found you." I say, squeezing his hand that holds mine.
Orpheus nods his head, suddenly there's a slight intrusion inside my head, I stare up at Orpheus in shock. His eyes are ghosted over, as if he's off in another world.

Suddenly his eyes focus on me again. " You're so strong Kahlua, I'm sorry about your upbringing." He apologizes sadly.
I open my mouth only to get off cut "Let's discuss that later, I want to get out of here." He says. Standing up and pulling me into his arms, I hold onto him as he leads us outside, Victor and Rayne are already gone and I mentally pray to the Moon Goddess to lead them through the next part of their lives.

Damien sits me in the passenger side, lifting up the middle console allowing me to slide over as Orpheus gets in behind me. Damien comes to the drivers side, slipping in and starting the engine. Lying my head on his shoulder I hold my stomach protectively.
Closing my eyes as sleep threatens to take over I only have one thought I'm going to be a mother.

*sometime later*

Soft snores from behind awake me sometime later, Damien's arms tightly wrapped around me and look down to see his hands cradling my stomach protectively. My eyes tear up at the sight, slowly rolling down my cheeks. We're going to be parents.
Something I never thought I wanted suddenly becomes everything.

"Baby, I'm so happy you were created." I whisper, laying my hands over Damien's. "Created in love, you'll always know love and a gentle hand." I continue before Damien softly rolls me over. "I never thought it was possible, this is the first time I've heard of two vampires creating life. I won't lie and say I haven't thought about what our kids would look like. Secretly wishing for them in our future." He says, capturing my lips in a soft kiss. "I love you so much." He whispers, punctuating each word with a kiss.

Giggling I push him away, stretching in content. "How are you feeling? You seemed shocked earlier." I ask, of course I could pry and delve into his mind to find the answer, instead I want him to tell me.

He smiles down at me "I'm happy, excited for the future. A child will bring us so much joy in our immortal lives." His eyes are distant in a way, imagining our future.

"How do you feel after seeing Orpheus again? I know he's important to you." I ask him, the man saved his life.

Damien runs his hand through his hair. "I'm glad my assumptions were correct about him being in Frisque, I'd say we are now even since I basically saved his life in return." He chuckles, my jaw dropping at his humor.

"Damien." I glare at him playfully.

He holds his hands up in mock surrender. "I'm seriously happy we found him, he asked many question about you on our ride home but you were fast asleep. We caught up." He says, shrugging his shoulders. Yet I knew, he was excited to have his teacher and good friend back in his life.

"He seemed happy to see me." I murmur, resting my head on Damien's chest.

"He was very happy to see you, he explained that he could sense you for months. Every night you'd come into the club to work he could sense you, you guys have a bond like I've never seen. A father - daughter bond that should be cherished." He finishes, stroking my hair lovingly.

My mind whirls as flashes of the future flash through my head, Our Child being born, Damien sobbing as he holds her for the first time. Flash forward a couple of years, Orpheus holding her small hand as she teeters down the path that leads to the field of flowers. Rayne crying happily at the mating ceremony down by the stream.

Looking up at Damien, I lean up to kiss him. "Are you ready for the future?" I ask, curious as to what it will be.

"Definitely."
