10 Years Earlier

Ella's POV (At the age of 6)

"Mum, can I get my book now? Mum, can I? Mum, are you listening to me? My comics are calling me, I can hear them!"

My mum put a hand to her forehead before answering me. "Yes Ella, you can get your comic book. I'll be right here, talking to the librarian."

"Okay, thanks Mum."

"Remember to come straight back, Ella."

"I will." I said, before running off towards my favourite aisle of the library.

I reached out for my favourite Marvel comic: Spiderman. "My spidey senses are tingling!" I squealed as I touched the cover.

"Spiderman's for boys," a new voice said. I turned to see a boy about my height, with a gap between his teeth and a comic in his pale hands. I had never seen him in the library before.

In fact, I had never seen any children my age in the library before.

"Yeah, well Green Lantern is for ugly people!" I snapped back at him, my hands on my hips.

He clutched his Green Lantern comic tighter and stepped towards me. "Yeah, well your ugly like Spiderman's bum."

"Spiderman's bum isn't ugly!"

The boy gasped and dropped his comic. "I'm telling my mum off you!" he said before running off down the aisle of comics.

And that, my friends was how I met Tyler James Lawson, the second biggest comic book nerd in town. I, of course, was the first.

And this is our story.
