I'm the last hope
I aspire to have a career
Have a family
Buy my mama the car she deserves
Get my family out of the ghetto
Give my cousins chances other than criminality
Everybody took the wrong path
And now I'm the last hope
I want to make mistakes too
Not always be the best
Smartest, realest, the dreamer,
The last hope
I want to have fun
Enjoy my younger days
Let go
Not be serious and professional
Even if it is for a day
But... I'm the last hope
For them
Maybe even for me
But, yesterday I lost the last hope
And what's now left
Is a sea of shattered dreams,
Memories- rather painful ones- and a picture
One of those you look at
Thinking about all the ifs
Realising there's nothing you can change
Opening a wound you had never known about
Which I'll now have to put up with
Because I decided to look back
Focusing too much on being someone's last hope
When I really only have myself
And that self is not only my last hope
It's my one hope

I didn't check it...
