I woke with a start, something was beating under my face. It was a heart, my face was squished up against someone's chest. Oh yes, now I remember, I stayed over at Carter's. Oops, didn't tell Dad...crap.
I lifted my head groggily and looked at Carter, he was sleeping peacefully with his neck bent at an awkward angle. His arms were wrapped around my waist, and my legs were under his. I'm not quite sure how we got like this, but I'm enjoying some close comfort.
I yawned quietly and rested my head on his muscly chest once again. His slow heart beat relaxed me, and soon I was on the verge of sleep again. That is until the heart beat sped way up. I lifted my head to look at Carter, he was awake and looked kind of shocked that I was lying on him and that he had his arms around me. He was probably asking the same question I had been, how did we get like this? He released his arms from around my waist and I climbed off him. Sitting on his bed I yawned widely, stretching my arms out. I had left my hair out, so it was pretty messy, it must have tangled in itself when my head was on Carter. "Sleep well?" Carter asked. His morning voice was husky, kind of deep, nice and slow and sort or raspy. But I like that.
"Yeah." I actually slept amazingly. Who knew you sleep better on top of someone else?
He scuffed up his hair which made it stand up at odd angles and look pretty hot. I ran a hand through my own hair, pretty certain I don't look hot in the morning. He smiled at me. My expression probably gave away my thoughts.
"Simply irresistible." he muttered as he leant toward me.
"That's a good song you kno...." I started to say, Carter cut me off as his lips crashed against mine. He fell back on the bed and pulled me down on top of him. We kissed and finally stopped when his mum walked in.
I rolled off him and nearly fell onto the floor, Carter grabbed me around my back and caught me. Once we were both sitting normally, Carter gave his mum a sheepish look whilst I avoided all eye-contact.
"Now, now...I hope you didn't do anything last night. I thought I could trust you Carter." she turned sharply to Carter, with a stern look upon her face.
"Nothing happened mum! I swear! We went to sleep, that's all!" Carter explained in a desperate voice.
Carter's mum made a humph sound, gave us one last reprimanding look before heading out the door, muttering about 'irresponsible teenagers'.
Carter looked across at me, then cleared his throat.
"Clover." he paused for a while "would you be my girlfriend?" he asked quickly. I felt my heart leap, I wanted to yell 'yes yes yes yes yes yes!' but I didn't so instead I said "Of course" in a dramatic way before we kissed again.
We strolled down the stairs, hand in hand. Carter's mum had reluctantly cooked us a bacon and egg breakfast which was amazing.
I heard my phone vibrating from upstairs and quickly excused myself, knowing it would be Dad.
"Hello?" I asked nervously into the phone.
"Where the hell are you?" Dad was controlled, but you know that scary controlled where the person are shaking? Well that's what Dad was now.
"I can explain." I said weakly.
"Explain? Explain what? We find out you have a prophecy with your room completely ruined, then you just DISAPPEAR!!!" Dad yelled the last word and lost his control.
"I needed to get away, I want a normal life! I don't want to be a queen or anything! I want to be a normal teenager! Oh, by the way I got a boyfriend." I waited for Dads reaction, he didn't say anything but his breathing quickened.
