Chapter 19

Maya's POV

The sand is hot beneath my toes. The sun reflects off my sunglasses. I look through them to find the rest of the gang. Liam, Zayn, Harry, Niall, and Val are all splashing and frolicking in the ocean. I smile to myself as I look for Ellery and Louis. They are being their normal perfect couple selves. Ellery is laughing as Louis tickles her on their beach towel. He lifts her up and swings her around. She grabs his arm and pulls him down the beach. Ellery and Lou go running, skipping, and laughing down the beach. Everyone on the beach is gazing at them with mixtures of longing and jealousy on their faces. I mean who could blame them? They are the most adorable couple ever.

I reach my beach towel and plop down. Not feeling much like going in the water, I pull my book, Bermudez Triangle by Maureen Johnson, out of my bag. I barely read a page before I feel myself being picked up by Liam!

"It's our last day love! No reading today!" He yells as he carries me into the ocean. He drops me with a large SPLASH.

The water feels cool on my skin. Liam's arm snakes around my waist until it rests just above my bum. We both come up for air and he strokes my cheek with his wet hand. He leans in to kiss my until...

"AHHHH!!!" I jump up into his chest. Zayn surfaces laughing hysterically. He high fives Harry and Niall. Valerie looks at me sheepishly grinning.

"I ruined the moment!" Zayn cheerfully explains, pumping his fist in the air. Liam looks at him before planting a nice kiss on my lips. Everyone looks surprised as he leans back, pleased with his work.

"SPLASH WAR!" Lou's cheeky voice calls!

"IM ON VAL'S TEAM!" Niall answers.

"Sorry Nialler!" El calls. "It's boys versus girls!"

Val's POV

Niall's face drops when he hears he can't be on my team. I grin.

"Sorry babe!" I say leaning in and kissing his nose. He moves his lips to mine. A large splash hits us both in the head.

"TWO moments ruined in one day!" Zayn yells. I laugh as I join the girls to talk about our strategy for the splash war. Ellery gets right down to business.

"I'll go for Louis and Harry." She says with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Maya you take on Liam, Val handle Niall, and you two attack Zayn." When we look at her questioningly she says, "You know! Cause he ruined your moments.

"So basically go for our boyfriends and Zayn?" I ask. El nods. We get into position.

Maya's POV

"WE WON WE WON!" Harry yells. The girls and I shake our heads, even though we know its true. We got demolished in the splash war.

"It has been decided that the we get to pick your punishments!" Zayn cheekily says. We all groan, knowing this can't be good.

"You girls are going to put on a little production for us." Harry cheekily starts.

"Val!" Niall says barely able to contain his laughter. "You will be singing lead vocal to the song SexyBack by Justin Timberlake!" Val groans muttering something about not being able to sing.

"Ellery!" Harry begins for her. "You will be doing your most seductive dance moves to the said song."

"But I'm a ballerina!" Ellery whines. "Ballet is not seductive or sexy!"

"Oh contraire!" Louis mischievously whispers to Harry. They both burst out laughing as Zayn begins to tell me my role in this production.

"Maya. You will be playing the main music of the song on this fine instrument. There will be a backing track for the other harmonies and such." Liam hands me a banjo.

"A BANJO?! I shriek. "HOW THE HELL AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW HOW TO PLAY A BANJO?"

"You have 15 minutes to figure it out babe!" Liam cheerfully says.

"Not to forget! This whole thing will be recorded. And then tweeted by Harry, because he has the most followers." Louis adds.

The girls and I groan as we walk away to start working on our wonderful punishment.

15 minutes later, we have a somewhat perfect production planned out. Val isn't as bad as she thought at singing. Not to mention I caught the boys staring at El's moves a couple times. It turns out the banjo is somewhat like a guitar!

"We're done!" Val calls to the boys. They all grin and Harry takes out his smartphone. The little red recording light flashes on. We all groan before starting.

I start plucking the chords out on the banjo. Out of the corner of my eye, Ellery starts executing difficult looking turns, leaps, and other dance moves. Louis is staring. I guess he does find ballet seductive.

"We're being in sexy back," Val awkwardly starts singing. "Them other girls don't know how to act."

The boys can barely contain their laughter. I'm sure this is a very hilarious sight. I finally pluck the last chord of the song. The boys all begin to clap and whoop. The red recording light turns off. Val, Ellery, and I exchange glances. They are both blushing, and so am I.

"TWEETED!" Hazza calls. I groan and wall over to Liam.

"Come on El! Why don't you teach me some of your dance moves?" Harry is harassing Ellery.

"Well babe, girls do find boys who do ballet quite sexy!" El is laughing as she responds. She runs over to Lou who mimics one of the leaps she did in the beginning of our punishment. El tickles him and begins to run the opposite direction direction down the long stretch of beach. Louis laughs and follows her. When he catches up the lean in close to each other and begin to walk with their arms around each other's waist, kissing now and then.

Niall, Valerie, Harry, and Zayn are all lounging on the sand. Liam and I decide to walk around the pool. It is lit in the moonlight. Very calm and inviting. Without warning, Liam takes his shirt off, grabs mine off, takes my hand and pulls us both in. He pulls me onto his back and begins walking around the pool. My hands immediately go around his abs. He suddenly dives under, taking me with him. The bliss of being underwater takes away all my problems and worries. I close my eyes. A soft hand snakes around my waist pulling me in. I go up for air, but the arm pulls me back down. I open my eyes and see Liam across from me, a glint of something I have never seen before in his eyes. He leans in and begins kissing me. First softly, and then passionately. I have never been kissed like this before. It turns into a sort of game. Liam initiating the kisses and then me responding back just as hungrily. His arms are steady on my waist and mine find their way around his neck. My legs find their way around his torso. I don't know how we stay under water for that long but we do.

I feel his strong body pull me up and out of the pool. I feel so dreamt I just let him have total control. He lays me with him on a lounge chair on the side of the trees. He begins kissing my neck and stroking my leg at the same time. My body flips around into his. I bury my face in his good smelling chest. He continues to kiss the tops of my head, but moves his hand the the small of my back. My skin jolts with electricity. His hand feels warm against my bare skin. I lift my head to give him one more proper snog. I look directly in his eyes. They are filled with love and need. I smile and bite my lip. I slowly move my head in. His lips meet mine and our lips make fireworks. As we slowly pulls back, Liam pulls me into a huge bear huge.

"I love you Maya." He whispers in my ear. I blush.

"I love you to baby."

We lay there the rest of night. I trace my fingers up and down the lines of Liam's hands. He strokes my leg. I'm not surprised when we fall asleep at the exact same moment in time.
