- Andy's POV -

"-and I was like no, this is surely not a date. Because, you know, he's he and I'm me. But I thought I should look good still because... it's Harper, come on. And then when I got to the café, he said it is actually a date. And I was like sksksksksk no wayyyyy! It literally blew my mind I was so shocked. And we had so much fun, we have a lot in common and he's like... uhhh you know what I mean. And then when the date was over, he drove me home, walked me to the door and kissed my cheek. He said there will be like a party this Wednessday to celebrate the amazing show on Friday and he wants me to come! He said there will only be a few people and I could bring you too. So get ready, 7pm at my house, he'll pick us up."

I laughed when Brook finally stopped rambling. We've been at the cafeteria for 10 minutes and he still hadn't eaten anything, he just kept talking.
"Brook eat already, okay? Besides, I don't think my mum would let me go out to party with grown-ups on a school day."
"I can be very convincing." he wiggled his eyebrows at me.
"Okay, we'll give it a chance. Let's walk to mine after school and you can prove me how convincing you can be."
"You talk like I've never convinced your mum to do things she didn't want to."
"Not after I didn't go home for a whole night and not about letting me go on a party on a school day."
"I can do it. It's my magic power."

To mine and my mum's biggest surprise, Brook did convince her to let me go. It took a while, but he actually did it and I was so happy. I really wanted to go to this party, even if I was the only one who wouldn't fit in. I can watch other people party from a distance as well, I don't necessarily have to be involved.
But deep down, I was hoping Rye would talk to me for a while. I really wanted him to be the way I pictured him, that perfect gentleman who's good with people because of his charisma.

Wednessday came by very quickly and as soon as I got home from school, I didn't even bother eating, I just jumped under the shower. I washed my hair too, brushed my teeth again, then I spent so much time on deciding what to wear. After I picked out a pair of tight dark blue ripped skinny jeans, a light pink t-shirt and a matching dark blue denim jacket, I spent like 15 minutes just on picking the pair of trainers that went the best with it and the jewelries that looked very good on me. And then my hair. The thing that I spent the most time on, just trying to set it perfectly. I think I spent like one hour with it, but I wasn't sure because right after I was done, I put some makeup on as well.

And before I could even think about it, it was half past 5pm. I quickly sat down to do my homework and at half past 6, I left the house. I said goodbye to my mum and told her to don't wait for me. I went to Brook's and I got there only 2 minutes before 7pm.

"Andy! God I thought you wouldn't make it." Brook said when he saw me. "Oooh, looking very good there Fovvs." he laughed.
"You too." I smiled. I was sure he spent more time on his looks than I did, since I knew he wasn't gonna do homework, just copy mine at school the next day.

Harper was rather punctual. We got into his car and he greeted me with a "Hello Andy" and Brook with a "Hey handsome" and a kiss to his cheek. Brook was so flattered, he had no idea what to say. He just mumbled a quiet "Hi" and Harper stepped on the gas.

He drove us to a beautiful house, it was nice and modern and it wasn't like how you usually imagine a party. Quiet music was playing, the lights were only dimmed and people were chatting with different expensive looking alcoholic drinks in their hands. No one was dressed up too much, so we didn't stand out.
"Andy, wanna grab something to drink?" Harper asked.
"No, I'm not old enough..."
"Brook isn't either. But the bartender here ain't gonna ask how old are you. He's hired to make drinks."
"Still no, but thank you very much." I said and grabbed Brook's arm before Harper could drag him away. "Be careful, okay? Don't get wasted."
"I won't, don't worry."

When they walked away, I looked around the house. I saw a few other famous people I knew through Rye, like Harvey, Loren, Jack, Blair, Ginger. But there were others who I didn't know as well.
And there was Rye... he was sitting by himself on a sofa, drinking something that looked like whiskey. I walked over and sat down next to him. He looked at me briefly, but turned his head back to where it was before. I had no idea what he was looking at.
"Hey." I greeted.
"Hi."
"Good to see you again. How are you doing?"
"Amazing." he said, his voice even, just like a robot's.
"Oh that's good. What... what are you having?"
"Scotch."
"I've never tasted that before." I said, laughing awkwardly.
"Get yourself from the bar."
"No, I'm not old enough to drink." I said, still a bit embarassed from that fact. I saw someone reach over to the coffee table that was in front of me and take a slice of cake, so I did too. I was starving, I haven't eaten anything that day at all. When I sat back, Rye was staring at me.

"How old are you dude?" he asked.
"I'll be 18 very very soon." I chuckled and bit into the cake. A bit of icing got on the corner of my lips and I felt so embarassed. "Sorry, I eat a bit messy." I said before wiping in away with one finger and sticking it into my mouth to lick it off. I continued to eat the cake until I finished it. I licked off the remaining icing from my fingers and finally looked up at Rye who was staring at me with his mouth open.

"What? Do I... do I still have something on my face?" I asked, trying to wipe my mouth. But Rye didn't answer, he just stood up and walked away. Great one Fowler, you just scared him away.

A few minutes later Harper and Brook were dancing to the music in front of me. Brook looked so happy I was glad I got to see that.
The music got louder as the time went by and I just wanted to get up and dance and have fun. But then, I spotted something. Something...

Rye. With a girl. His tongue in her mouth. Her body grinding on his. His hands on her butt. Her hands in his hair.

I felt sick. I ran out, feeling the cake I ate a while ago start to come back. I searched for the bathroom eagerly, and when I finally found it, I locked the door and kneeled down next to the toiled. I threw up and after that, I just started crying. I couldn't control it anymore, everything just came out. I put a hand over my mouth so people wouldn't be able to hear my sobs until I calmed down, then I got up, flushed the toilet and cleaned up after myself. I tried my best to collect myself before going outside. No one noticed I was gone, Brook was having fun dancing with Harper and Rye and the girl were nowhere to be seen.

With a sad smile, I walked out of the house. I went to the nearest bus stop and bought a ticket to the stop that was close to my house. During the whole ride, I was crying.

When I got home, my mum was already asleep on the sofa, the TV still on. I turned it off and put a blanket over her. Then I went to my room, texted Brook to tell him I left and went to bed.
I lied wide awake all night, not being able to sleep after what I witnessed. I just wanted to cry until there was nothing left.

Yes, I know in the previous chapter I said Andy was 18. That's why I made Rye look confused about his age because yes, Andy lied on his IG. But it's not like a big lie, he'll be 18 soon!
We've all done that anyways. *continues to sip tea like nothing happened*
