"What a great idea!" May exclaimed at the proposition Peter had presented to her. It had been only two nights since Peter swung over to Michelle's bedroom window with this idea that he was now telling May. The plan: to have Ned join he and MJ at the Billy Joel concert. In Peter's mind, it was the perfect way for them all to hang out as friends. Plus, he thought it would be a great opportunity to give Ned the news that he and MJ were dating.

He discussed the plan with Michelle in her bedroom, and she agreed that it was a decent idea. "Not a great idea, but more decent than your usual ideas" he remembered her responding, and he smiled like an excited child in a candy store. The following day, Peter and Ned hung out again to finish the Lego Star Destroyer. In the midst of their many conversations, Peter told him about how May and Happy bought him tickets to the concert. Ned was excited to hear this, as he knew how much Peter and, especially, May liked Billy Joel. Peter made sure not to reveal how many tickets he had, to keep Ned unaware that someone else may be coming along for the show. In Ned's excitement, he wished he could go to a concert soon, which gave Peter the right opportunity to invite him. Ned hesitated for a moment, thinking that this was an event meant only for Peter and his aunt, and that he shouldn't get in the way of that.

"Wouldn't I be getting in the way of time between you and May" he voiced his concern. Peter frowned a bit, thinking about how he hadn't discussed this new plan with May yet. Though, he thought she would be fine with it, as it was his birthday present and had suggested other options of who would be in attendance. At this, he assured Ned that it wouldn't, and offered him his invitation again. Obviously, Ned was ecstatic and agreed to go.

Fast forward to now, the day of the concert, Peter had just told May about the new set of plans in their apartment. And as we already heard, she thought it was a great idea. "Why didn't I think about you all going together?" she remarked, mentally smacking herself in the head for not initially thinking about all three of them going as friends. Peter was a little relieved, but still worried that he had ruined May's chance to spend time with him and MJ. "You're not bummed about not going, are you?" he asked.

"A little" she said softly, "but it's your birthday gift and I've seen him perform many times." A small smile perked up on Peter's face as she explained. May saw this and knew that he'd be a little sour at himself for not including her in the event. She came up to him and set her hand on his shoulder affirmatively and said, "I'll be fine."

"Okay" Peter answered simply, and the two shared a quick hug. May gave him a good rub on the back, raising his mood for talking about his plans for the day.

"But this is huge, right?" he said with much interest as she broke from the hug. "Telling Ned about you and MJ."

"Yeah, it is" he answered. "I just hope it all goes well."

*knock knock kn-knock knock*

A rhythmic knocking came from the door, making both Peter and May turn their heads. "Oh that's Ned!" he said with a small of burst of energy welling in his chest. "Come in!" he shouted, giving Ned permission to enter. The door opened normally, revealing Ned's figure with a smile on his face for seeing his favorite aunt-nephew pair.

"Hey!" he said, a small chuckle in his voice.

"Hi, Ned. Good to see you sweetie" May greeted him and the two embraced in a warm hug. "Good to see you too, May" he said as they released each other smiling. "Are you excited about today?"

"Oh, beyond excited" he answered, "I've been relistening to his songs and it's got me more pumped than when Peter invited me."

"I'm ready when you are" Peter commented, and the two friends started for the door as they prepared to have hopefully the best day ever. "Ooh!" Peter quickly burst out, "do you want to grab a quick bite somewhere before we go?" Ned said yes and they left saying goodbye to May.
