We both went down stairs with a awkward tension between us. I was going down one step at a time so I could try and make sense of what just happened. Of course my clumsy ass decided the just step over one step and started falling. I put my hands out, closed my eyes and sucked in a breath waiting for impact. Then a pair muscular hands grabbed my waist. I already knew who it was. I didn't want to look. Why was I such a dumbass? I opened my eyes and he was right in front of me. His honey brown eyes staring in my ice blue eyes. I awkwardly laughed and grabbed his wrist and took them off my waist then walked around him to get to the kitchen. I was hit with a strong smell of parsley and butter. It smelled heavenly. My mom turned around. I laughed. She looked like a crazy person. Her hair was all messy and sticking up everywhere, she had flour on different areas of her face and her apron had a variety of colors all over. It looked like she gave a 3 year old finger paint and gave them her apron as a canvas.

"Oh be quiet little miss judgemental." She laughed walking over to me smacking my butt. I yelped and she laughed at me. I laughed along with her.

"That smells heavenly Ms. Knight." I heard Troy say. Suddenly the mood changed. I wanted to throw myself out of a window on the 10000th story. I sighed and went to the table. Wow. My mom went all out. There was chicken and potatoes and green beans, croissants. Mmm. I heard her and Troy talking. I sat down and sipped my water slowly. I thought about Troy. I hate him with all my heart but then when he touches me and whispers to me i just forget about everything he did wrong. And i want him to be mine. No Sophi, you met this guy last  night when you were drunk at a party you barely even know him. I heard them walk in and I scooted my chair in closer. Then I heard the door open. I looked over but it was no use the wall was blocking the sight of the front door. Then I saw my brother walk in.

"Hey Griffin." I said. He came over to me and ruffled my hair.

"Sup lil sis." He walked over to my mom and hugged her. She ran to her room for some reason. Probably to clean up. Griffin was still in his scrubs from college. He wanted to me a doctor and he just started going to college. He sat down across the table from me and Troy came and sat next to me. I rolled my eyes. Griffin gave me a confused look. It took my a second.

"Oh! Um Griffin this is Troy. Troy this is Griffin my older brother." They stood up and did that weird guy thing that they do to greet other guys. My mom came running out. She abandoned her finger painted apron for a nice casual blouse and some cleaner jeans. She had taken her hair out of its horrific ponytail and brushed it out. And it looked like she added some of her favorite lipstick. You could barely notice because it was a more nude color. But I noticed.

"Aw mom you look beautiful." I said she smiled and then sat at the front of the table. We all said grace. Then dug in. The chicken was delicious. Griffin and mok were talking about what he did at school. Me and Troy sat in silence.

"So Sophie," my mom said. I looked over at her. "How was that party last night?" I almost choked on my chicken. I took a sip of water and my eyes were watering.

"Oh that-that party. It was um.... really fun. I danced and um... partied." I laughed nervously. My mom gave me a weird look as well as Griffin. I looked over at Troy. He looked like he was dying. He was trying to hold in his laughter. I glared at him. Me and my mom started talking to Troy and me about school, then I felt a large hand on my thigh. I breath hitched. I looked over at Troy he was just smiling and answering my mom questions. He gripped tighter and moved up my leg more. I couldnt move. I just sat there silent and motionless. He was making shapes with his finger on my leg now. My cheeks were a deep shade of pink.
