Chapter 13

Troy had dropped me off at home and I went upstairs and to my room. Today was awful. Troy was being a asshole and then embarrassed me in front of the whole school. How could he do that to me? Ugh. I threw my book bag down and laid down on my bed. I was so stressed out from him and everything. I knew that he was going to be different around his guy friends but he treated me so meanly. I really hope he isn't like this all the time. I sighed and grabbed my homework out of my bag. I worked on that for about an hour then went down stairs. 

"Griffin your home?" I said. He was sitting on the couch gorging on a bag of chips. He nodded. I went over and hugged him then stole some chips. 

"Hey!" He said. I laughed and went into the kitchen to get something to eat. I found a apple and grabbed that and a juice box and went back upstairs to my bedroom. Then my phone dinged. I grabbed it. 

Troy: hey I'm sorry... can I make it up to you?🥺

Sophi: I don't know you were mean to me today😣🥺

Troy: I know baby I'm sorry okay... I just wanted everyone to know that I was dating you and I wasn't scared of showing it.

Sophi: ik but you know I get nervous in front of big crowds and your kinda popular and I'm not so that caused a ton of attention.😣😣

Troy: I'm sorry okay baby I won't do it again... unless you ask😏😈

Sophi  don't hole your breath😂

Troy:😭😭😭😭😭😭

Sophi: you are forgiven. 🥰❤️

Troy yayyyyyyyy🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 I love you... see you later baby.

Sophi see you later❤️❤️

I felt bad for not saying I love you to him but those are strong words. I watched some tv. Then my mom called me downstairs. 

"Coming!" I yelled shutting off the tv. I went out of my room and started walking downstairs. I saw my mom was sobbing. 

"Mom? What's wrong?" I said running down going to her side. Griffin was there too, we were both hugging her. 

"You're.. f-father escaped from jail and called me... he was threatening us." She got out. I went pale. He escaped. No. That can't be possible. My heart rate increased. And I backed away from her and Griffin.

"No... no mom HOW!?" I screamed. Tears were streaming down my face. 

"I'm sorry sweetheart I-I don't know." She cried. I took in shaky breaths and Griffin slowly walked towards me knowing that I could burst at any moment. I shook my head and ran up stairs and into my room slamming my door. I went into my bed and sobbed. He can't be back... he just can't. Fear surrounded me immediately, it felt like it was suffocating me and I couldn't breath. I called Troy. 

"Hey baby. Woah woah what's wrong babe.. calm down sweetie." 

"He's back Troy.." I sobbed. "He's back." I mumbled. 

"I'm coming over right now baby do you want me to stay in the phone with you?" He said sweetly. 

"No you focus on driving please hurry though." I said. 

"Okay I'm going out to the car now okay I'm on my way." He said. I heard a door shut in the background. 

"Okay." 

"I love you baby I'll be three in like 3 minutes." He said. 

"See you then." Then I hung up. I hated not saying I love you. I cried into my pillow until he knocked at my window. I looked  up and went over to the window and opened it. He engulfed me in a hug immediately. His scent filled my nose and made me feel safe. I hugged him back. 

"Who's back baby? You never really told me." He mumbled into my hair. Then he grabbed my shoulders and looked me in the eye. 

"M-my da-," I kept stuttering, 

"Hey take a deep breath, in.... out." I breathed like he said.  

"My d-dad." I mumbled. "He escaped from j-jail." I sobbed. Troy looked at me with sad eyes. "He threatened m-my mom, me and G-Griffin." I cried even more. He pulled me back into a hug. 

"No one will hurt you you understand me ever... not under my watch. He won't ever come within a mile from you or I'll kick his ass." He said protectively. He sounded angry. "He will never touch you. Ever." he said more forcefully. He brought me over to my bed and sat me down and he grabbed some tissues. I looked him in his eyes. He looked so sweet and protective. He wiped my tears from my face. "Don't cry about him okay. He doesn't deserve your tears." He said leaning in to kiss me. We kissed passionately. Then I pulled away getting tired. He took off his hoodie and put it over my head and I took off my jeans then went under the cover with him. He laid behind me and I turned around and had my head on his chest. I could feel his steady heartbeat and I think I finally was ready. 

"Troy?" 

"Hm?" I slowly breathed. 

"I love you." I said. I looked up at him and he was smiling from ear to ear. 

"Say it again."

"Troy I love you. So much." He smiled and kissed me on my forehead. I smiled and laid back down on his chest. 

"I love you too baby." And with that I fell asleep with the man I truly loved.
