Her fingers danced over the keys, line after line of code appearing upon the screen, slowly creeping its way into the system. With a gentle click, the imposing firewalls dissipated, relife flooding her system. She had done it, she had hacked into the mother ship, she had hacked Zarkon.

The girl quickly shifted the intel, highlighting sections of necessary information and deleting folder after folder of imposing info that could destroy galaxies upon falling into the wrong hands. Eyes scanning the holographic screens one would think she would be lost in the intelligence before her, yet she heard.

"What should we do about Y/n?"

That voice, so filled with malice, venom practically dripping from the words.

"She can't fight, can't engineer, can't help around the castle - She's dead weight, useless."

Allura had always acted cold towards her, pushing away the offers of assistance that she so happily sprung upon the busy princess, even if it was sorely needed. Yet Y/n hadn't realised how the Altean simply dispised her until recently, during a mission.

They were cornered, the sentries closing in on their position quicker than they would have liked. And to make the situation worse, everyone was severely injured, unable to fight the ever-growing crowd of robots, all except her.

Y/n wasn't one for battles, preferring to perch high in the rafters and shoot them down. And so, the teenager had a first-row seat to the demise of her team, a team that would ( Supposedly ) support her no matter what.

The princesses shrill voice screeched into her ear as she shot sentry after sentry, abandoning her post and walking through the crowd. Shot after shot, malfunction after malfunction, she reached the team, pulling them from the carnage and rushing them to safety, leaving the desperately needed info behind.

"Where is the intel?"

The team's garbled and mixed response lit a fuse for the princess, a fuse that was going to blow any tick.

"Y/n,"

The furious woman turned to the teenagers exhausted and slumped over form.

"Where is the intel? The intel we so desperately need? The intel that everybody almost DIED for?!"

She shrugged. Shrugged! Her muddled mind had managed to do the one action that did it for Allura.

"You had one job! Gather the Information, return to the deck and support from above. You, somehow, managed to fuck that up! How? I have no damn idea, but Niphlim oh mightly Y/n. You aren't a Paladin, aren't a hero and most importantly NOT an asset!!"

That's right, the collected and cool-headed Princess of Altea lost it, and Y/n was on the receiving end.

Y/n sighed a long, tired sigh, killing the programme she had spent phoeb's creating and collected the intel scattered about the room, twisting the luminescent screens together and placing them into the small and useful USB she had tucked away.

"Don't be so harsh, princess. I'm sure Y/n does a lot to help our cause."

Shiro, the space dad. A small, grateful smile crossed her lips, dropping the moment the voice's resumed.

"Yeah, like lock herself in her room for hours on end. Does anybody know what she even does in there?"

"She could help Pidge, right?"

The Red and Yellow Paladins.

"NO!! - Well, um, I'm not letting her in my lab. Last time she was in there she dropped food on my computer. No thank you."

The initial hurt increased, tears softly falling from her eyes as the voices continued to insult her left and right, highlighting flaws and preferably forgotten details. Yet one thing the group always seemed to forget was her acute sense of hearing.

Slowly, silently, she stepped from the room, footfalls quiet as she approached the doorway. as soon as she stepped into view they stopped, eyes widening comically as they took in her dishevelled and sleep-deprived appearance, taking note of the small USB clenched in her slightly shaking fist.

A smile, cold and bleak, crossed her lips as she dropped the intel at their feet.

"I can hear you."
