Claw marks defaced the furniture and walls, blood staining the corridors, yet the screen was intact.
It was glitchy, yes, but operational, Pidges mind whirring as her fingers danced across the dusty keyboard. The gentle click of a lock alerted them, a blinding flash of light illuminating the destroyed room. A woman had appeared on the screen, smiling cheerfully at the camera.
"Hello, my name is Y/N and this is my... report?"
The Paladins observed silently as she glanced away from them, seeming to converse with somebody offscreen before averting her attention back to the camera.
"A few weeks ago - Movements? Is that what there called up here? I'm, not quite sure anymore... Anyhow, a few weeks ago my crew infiltrated and released a planet previously under Galra rule!"She was cheerful, bubbly, yet the sharp canines set the group on edge.
"Whilst upon that planet they seemed to come into contact with a... virus of sorts. Those who are infected become bloodthirsty monsters, like Vampires I suppose, and kill everything in sight. Unluckily, almost the entire population had come in contact with it - each slowly growing more and more unreasonable by the second."She released a breath, eyes growing darker and angrier.
"They needed to stop the outbreak, they had to, if they let it continue the entire universe would fall into disbalance - there was no other way.""So we killed them."
The Paladins stepped back, horror twisting their features as her words set in.
This girl, this what appeared to be human, had help slaughtering an entire race.
"Listen, I know what your thinking -it was horrible, and there should have been something else I could do. But, they were beyond recognition. They were incurable."
Y/N sighed, dragging a hand down her face, clearly exhausted.
"My crew is incurable."
"So I killed them."Her dark eyes flashed to meet those of the Paladins, fear crawling down their spines as they finally noticed the bloodstains and claw marks upon the walls. Her side of the screen was in wreckage.
She was in the ship still.
"And your next."There were footsteps.
