I could not sleep at night. I decided to go down the kitchen and drink some water until....
"Good evening."
I turned and saw Jaime.
"Hello." I smiled.
"It's a great timing that you're here. My daughter, son and grandson and I were just talking about something and we are planning about it. They left though. So I'm gonna talk to you about it, thinking that maybe you can help us plan it."
I sat across him and smiled in excitement, "What's the plan? I really think I can help."
"I'm gonna propose to Maria tomorrow."
I gasped in surprise, "That's good to hear Jaime."
He smiled, "I was thinking you can distract her by taking her to places with Macoy."
I nodded enthusiastically, "Yes yes. I can do that."
He then hugged me, "Thank you Freya."
"No problem Jaime."
"You are one incredible woman. I bet Harry's lucky to have you."
I then blushed, "Uh no. We're not...Um- I'm not-"
"Oh."
The next day, Macoy approached me early in the morning and we went to Maria, waking her up and telling her to prepare to go to the proper area of Bunga, Biliran. After preparation, we went to Bunga, Biliran proper. We went to the nice places nearby, market then ate at wonderful food stops that offers Filipino foods. I savored the food while Macoy and Maria were busy talking. Moments later, I heard laughs from them.
"Okay Macoy. Let's have a bet. For me, they'll fall in love here in Biliran."
"For me lola, they'll fall in love somewhere else."
I giggled at the scene of them betting over something, "May I join the bet?"
"No my apo (grandchild). It's only me and Macoy."
"Why not? What's the bet about?"
"Where they'll fall in love." Maria said, smiling.
"Who?" I asked, taking a drink of water.
"You and Harry." Macoy said, causing me to spill my water a bit.
"Yieeee." Maria and Macoy swooned, causing me to blush.
"Oohh, someone's blushing Macoy." Maria smiled.
"Maria." I groaned
"It's okay Freya."
"He's out of my league."
"No he's not. I mean, you're pretty, fit, kind, smart. You both are equally matched-"
"But I'm weird."
"Let me tell you something apo." Maria said, telling me to lean towards her. I did and she whispered something in my ear.
"Boys love weird girls. Weird girls drives them crazy. Trust me, I was like you. Then Jaime came."
I then leaned back, "But that was 1930's or something."
"That's still effective Freya."
"But-"
"In fact, you guys remind Jaime and I of us when we were younger. And the way you guys looked at each other, was similar to how we look at each other."
I blushed. Moments later, Macoy's phone beeped. Indicating that it's time to go. Macoy smiled at me. Then we drove home. As we arrived home, there were a lot of people. A romantic, Filipino music started playing in the background as Jaime proposed to Maria. Maria said yes, causing all of us to celebrate.
"Yes. Finally." Someone shouted, hugging me. I turned back and realized that Harry was the one that hugged me. He then let go, blushing as well.
"Sorry Frey-"
I hugged him back. He then hugged me and as we let go, we saw Maria, Jaime, Macoy and Tacoy smiling at us.
"I bet Maria's winning apo." Jaime said to Macoy. I blushed.
"Group hug." Tacoy shouted as they enveloped Harry and I for a hug. I giggled.
