"It's been two years since we ganked Chuck. Honestly shits been great. Back to normal in a way. But shits changed to. Jack has mostly been in heaven lately trying to get shit back on track. Sam and me have powers now. I still freak myself out when I look in the mirror to see black eyes looking back at me every so often.

There are still monsters in the world doing monster things so we do what we do best. Hunt. The family business. Me, Cas, and Sammy on the road. They way things should be. Like right now we are in New Jersey checking out a case. Sam found some article online about a week ago. Sounded like vamps so we came to check it out." Dean put the pen down when he heard the door to the motel room jiggle.

He found an old beat up leather journal in one of the rooms at the bunker a few weeks back and decided to finally use it. But he wasn't going to let Sammy know about it. He didn't need his brother cracking diary jokes. He quickly got up and hid the book in his duffle before Sam and Cas made it into the room.

"Took you long enough." Dean grunted.

"Ya well Cas got a little caught up while questioning that hot medical examiner." Sam chuckled while shrugging off his fake FBI suit jacket.

Dean looked over at Cas. He had faint lipstick marks on his face. His tie was more crooked than usual and his hair a complete mess. Dean felt a pang in his gut but shock it off.

"Since when do you get action on the job?" Dean questioned sounding a little nasty. He didn't intended to come off that way. Sam noticed his tone and eyed him.

"She just attacked me. Said she didn't get out much and I was giving her vibes. What does that mean?" Cas asked tilting his head to the side. Sam and Dean both burst out in laughter.

"She must have thought you were flirting with her." Sam said when he could finally breathe.

"I was not. I had no interest in flirting. I was just asking questions for the case." Cas said as he slumped in one of the chairs in the makeshift dining area.

"Speaking of the case what did you guys find out?" Dean asked as he walked to the fridge to grab three beers. Even thought Cas couldn't taste much of it and it took a lot for him to get buzzed he drank beer when ever Dean offered it lately. It was pretty much the only thing Cas touched in the was of drinks and food. Occasionally Dean can get him to eat some pie. Sam's tried a bunch of stuff but Cas always denied his offers.

"Not much. We got a look at the victims, it's definitely vampires. You find out anything?" Sam asked.

"No I can't find any connections between them. The one was on a vacation here. One was a local high school student. And the other was a waitress at that diner down the road. The vamps are probably just picking out random people to feed on." Dean said.

"How are we going to find them?" Cas asked.

"Guess we just got to keep snooping around till we find something." Dean shrugged.

"Three people have died in the last two weeks Dean. We have to do more then just snoop." Sam said making air quotes when he said snoop.

"Well what do you suggest Sammy? Why don't you go use your new angel mojo to feel out the vamps." Dean huffed.

"That's not how that works Dean." Cas said trying to help Sam a little.

"Why don't you get on demon radio and ask around? I'm sure some of your and Crowley's old buddies know some vamps." Sam anger got the better of him. He knew saying that was a mistake as soon as it left his mouth.

"Fuck you Sam." Dean flipped him off as he stormed out of the room.

"Shit." Sam sighed as he went up to follow Dean. Cas put his arm out to stop him.

"Let me talk to him. Try and find something we can go on for the case while we're gone." Cas said gesturing to the laptop on the table.

When Cas left the room after Dean, Dean was just putting the keys in the ignition to baby. Cas wouldn't make it to him in time on foot so he angeled himself into the passenger seat of the Impala. Dean didn't even jump when Cas appeared next to him, now use to the way Cas just pops up. Neither said a word as Dean popped in a Metallica tape and floored it out of the motel parking lot. They were about twenty minutes into the ride when Dean finally said something.

"I'm getting real fucking sick of the demon comments." Dean was basically growling. Cas said nothing knowing Dean was about to go on a venting rampage.

"Why the fuck did Jack have to give me demon powers? I get the whole balance thing but couldn't he have given the shit end of the stick to Sam? I dealt with this shit before when I had the mark why do I have to deal with it agin?" Dean was gripping the steering wheel so tight his knuckles were turning white.

"Sam has delt with demon powers before to Dean. Maybe Jack thought you would handle them better. And if he had given Sam the demon powers you would still be angry because you would be worrying about him." Cas said calmly.

"Son of a bitch." Dean yelled stepping harder on the gas.

They drove for another half hour without speaking. They past a hole in the wall bar that was open so Dean turned around and parked the Impala in a spot farthest away from the door. They sat there in the parking lot of the bar in silence for what felt like forever.

"I'm sorry I yelled at you. You did nothing wrong. And your right. If it was Sam with the demon shit I'd be freaking out even more." Dean said to Cas as he had finally calmed down.

"This time is different then when you had the mark Dean. Your soul is completely intact and not going anywhere. You just have demon powers you're not turning into an actual demon." Cas said.

"They why do I have these." Dean finally looked over at Cas and his eyes were completely pitch black.

"You are still you Dean. It's just part of the powers. You have seen Sam with angel eyes." Cas said not looking away from Dean. Dean blinked and his eyes were back to there normal green. They stared at each other for longer then necessary untill Dean pulled his gaze away.

"I'm scared Cas. I don't want what happened last time to happen agin." Dean sighed while dropping his head into his hands. Cas placed his hand on Dean's shoulder.

"It won't. I promise." Cas slowly rubbed his thumb in small circles as it rested on Dean's shoulder.

"Come on I need a drink." Dean pulled away from Cas and got out of the car.
