Dean woke up first. He didn't really register what was going on at first. He was still drunk with sleep an extremely comfortable. As he started to wake up more he remembered how he fell asleep last night. Then he noticed he wasn't alone in bed. His eyes shot open to see his own arms wrapped around Cas. They were tangled in a mess of arms legs and bedsheets. Dean couldn't believe he not only ended up cuddling Cas in his sleep but how woven together they truly were. He slowly started to free himself trying his damnedest not to wake the sleeping angel.

When Dean was finally free he mad his way to the so called kitchen area and made a pot of coffee. Just as the pot was finishing Cas woke up. Dean watched as Cas stirred. Cas stretched his arms out as if looking for Dean. Dean wasn't sure how to feel when Cas's sleepy face dropped to a look of disappointment over waking up to an empty bed. When Cas finally sat up in bed rubbing the sleep from his eyes Dean made his presence known.

"Morning Cas. " Dean said over his just poured cup of coffee.

"Hello Dean." Cas said with his voice dripping with sleep. It caused Dean's stomach to flip and he couldn't fathom why. He coughed trying to chase the feeling away.

"Can I try some?" Cas asked as he made his way to Dean.

"Since when do you willing try human shit. Thought it tasted like molecules." Dean said handing his cup to Cas. He figured the angel wasn't going to like it so instead of pouring him his own cup, Dean let him try his own.

"It does but somethings are starting to taste better. Maybe when Jack fixed me something changed to adapt to human things better." Cas said as he sipped the coffee. His face scrunched up.

"Bad?"

"Just to bitter."

"Here let me see." Dean took the mug and added some cream and sugar to it and tasted it then handed it back to Cas. "Try again."

"Better." Cas said as he hummed into the cup.

For some reason Dean never poured a new cup for himself he and Cas just passed back the same cup until it was empty. Dean filled it up agin and when he was done passed it to Cas but he shook his head having had enough. Dean downed the cup and went to start packing his things.

"Are we heading straight to the bunker or do you want to stop for breakfast?" Cas asked.

"Probably run into the gas station when I need to fill up baby for something to eat. Why?"

"If we're not going into a diner or anything can I keep this on instead of changing?" Cas gesture to the clothes he had on. Dean's clothes.

"Uh sure if you want." Dean was a little confused. Cas barely ever took that damn trench coat off he was surprised he didn't want to change back into his own clothes. Cas must of caught the unasked question.

"I just feel comfy." Cas shrugged as he started to help Dean clean up the room.

"Comfy? Who the fuck are you and what didn't you do with Cas?" Dean asked laughing.

"With stuff some what calm for once I thought trying to be more human would be nice. For example being lazy and wearing pajamas on the ride home." Cas started to blush.

"What ever you want Cas. I don't mind. It's kinda cool to see you relax a little." Dean smirked.

After checking the room over one last time they headed out. It was going to be a long trip. Some where around twenty hours if they drove all the way through. Which if Dean wanted he could. Depending on how he feels he might stop to sleep. No motel just stretch out in the car for a few hours. They will save time by just grabbing food at gas stations since Cas wants to be like a lazy human today. Dean wasn't complaining about it. He decided to stay in his pajamas as well. He didn't care what he looked like while pumping gas or running into the convenience stores quick.

The ride home was actually fun for the first time in a long time. Dean sung along to the music he played and taught Cas a bunch of his favorites. They spent some time talking. Actually talking. Cas got Dean to really open up and spill his guts with how he has been feeling about the whole demon powers thing. They talked for a good two hours about shit. Then they just stared to crack jokes and mess around. They had stopped a few times for gas and food. Slept once a good while back. They only had a few hours untill they got home but Dean's eyes started getting heavy.

"It's pretty late and I'm getting tired again man. Care if I pull over and sleep a bit?" Dean said glancing over at Cas.

"I could drive if you want. We only have a few hours left untill we are home."

"Ha ya no. My car. My baby. No." Dean said determined not to let Cas drive.

Dean failed. Cas was behind the wheel carefully driving the Impala. Dean insisted he stay up in the front seat "just in case". Cas knew he was perfectly capable of driving the car home safely, but he also knew how obsessed with the car Dean was.

"Dean it's okay. Get some sleep." Cas said never taking his eyes off the road.

"Yeah yeah just drive." Dean mumbled.

Despite his best efforts, Dean started falling asleep sitting up. The more he drifted off the more his body leaned to the side. Eventually Dean was practically laying in Cas's lap. Well his head was at least. He was using Cas's lap as a pillow. He had no control his body just fell that way as he drifted off. Or at least that's what he was going to keep telling himself over and over when he wakes up. As Dean slept in Cas's lap, Cas let his one hand off the steering wheel to rest on Dean's head. When Dean didn't wake up from the contact Cas gently stated to play with Dean's hair. In his sleep Dean let out a soft moan of contentment which brought a huge grin to Cas's face.

For years everyone knew Cas's and Dean's "profound bond" went beyond friendship. But Dean. Dean still couldn't put his feelings together. It took Cas awhile to realize exactly what he felt but he knew now. He knew since purgatory. But he wouldn't push Dean. He figured by now Dean would never come to terms with it and that was fine with him. As long as Dean was happy. It hurt like hell all those times Dean pushed him away but he knew it was what Dean needed at the time so he didn't fight and just let Dean push him away. They always made up. They always found each other again. Cas wanted more but he was happy as long as Dean was in his life in some way and that's all he could find himself to ask for. But it was times like this that Cas found himself questioning his decisions. Should he say something to Dean? Should he try? But he was scared he would lose Dean completely if he said anything. He decided to push his feelings down and removed his hand from Dean's hair and put it back on the wheel. In his sleep Dean frowned at the loss of contact.
