after dragging his feet to all his lessons and a long day, hyunjin groaned and ran a hand through his hair as he walked to the school field.

there, seungmin was waiting for him, seated on the stands and nose buried in a book.

"hey."

hyunjin says as he takes a seat next to his friend.

"hi."

seungmin knows hyunjin is hesitating.

he wants hyunjin to ask about him.

hyunjin had hurt his feelings often lately and he wanted an explanation.

"when's the wedding? have your parents decided yet?"

hyunjin chickened out and asked a simple question instead.

seungmin wanted to hit him.

"not yet, jiyeon and i don't want to make it too early."

"...can i ask you something?"

"you already did, but go on."

"do you want to marry her?"

seungmin was silent, hyunjin waited for his answer.

"i have to. i can't disappoint my parents."

hyunjin faces him.

"i'm not asking about what your parents want. i asking you what you want."

seungmin stares into hyunjin's eyes.

"no. i don't want to marry her,"

he finally says after a pause,

takes a deep breath,

and decides to drop the bomb.

hyunjin doesn't say anything for a long time.

his back is facing seungmin, so the shorter couldn't see his expression.

the silence stretches on and seungmin starts doubting if he should have said it after all.

he felt lanky arms wrap around his torso and quiet sniffs.

seungmin patted hyunjin on the back with a bitter smile.

seungmin heart starts palpitating like its in a race.

this couldn't be real.

but as seungmin held tightly onto the fragile boy, his frown turned into a huge grin.

it was hard to believe, but hyunjin liked him back.

how did he not notice earlier? so silly.

seungmin couldn't be any happier.

hyunjin's tears soak through his shirt.

he's sure he could fly to the moon and pluck stars from the sky if seungmin asked him to.
