“It’s time for our long running talent show! Ad-lib entries are welcome too!” the host announced gleefully.

Today is the last day of Shutoku High School’s Annual School Fair and the so called ‘After Party’ is currently taking place in the school quadrangle.

“Let’s start then! Number one performer, please come on stage!”

Actually, you wanted to go home early but since your childhood friend texted you to stay for the after party, you found yourself amidst the crowd of students anticipating the event.

“Okay, let’s welcome the next person on stage!”

“Eh?!” You exclaimed in disbelief.

“Kyaaa! It’s Takao-kun~”

“Takao? You mean Takao-kun from the basketball club?”

“Yep. He’s so cool!” You overheard some fan girls say.

You only sighed to yourself. Ever since he became noticed as the Shutoku’s First Year Point Guard wielding the Hawk Eye, girls go squealing over him and it become quite difficult for you to approach him. It can’t be helped; Takao is undeniably talented, kind, friendly and bubbly, and a good-looking guy with an air of charisma.

It was kind of sad for you that you get to spend less time with him but because you don’t know how to act in front of him now that you realized that you developed a deeper kind of feelings for him, you tried to ignore it and act like your usual self.

“First Year A, Takao Kazunari! I’ll sing!” he introduced himself cheerfully.

You saw him took a deep breath and from the stage, he looked at you in the eyes. You saw a never-before-seen expression in his eyes, which made your heart skip a beat.

“…I will dedicate this song to the girl who has been with me for as long as I can remember… [Name]-chan, this is for you.” He gave you a warm smile. You heard the crowd cheered.

Takao stepped down the stage and walked towards you. You were seriously touched by what he was doing for you. It was the first time someone dedicated something for you and you really feel special. He gently wiped away the tears falling from your eyes. With his warm hand holding yours, he led the both of you back on stage.

“I don’t even remember since when I felt this way to you…but please give me a chance… I love you [Name]-chan…please go out with me…” Takao confessed.

Being confessed to by your childhood friend, not to mention in front of an audience, set your heart into turmoil, you felt flattered, happy, flustered, nervous. Your heart beats so fast that you think that it will leap out of your chest.

“…I would be glad to.”

“[Name]-chan…so do you mean…?”

“I love you too, Kazunari-kun.” Takao embraced you tightly and you hugged him back.

“YES! [Name]-chan is my girlfriend now!” he exclaimed happily.

“KISS~” you heard the crowd say in unison, making you even more flustered.

The two of you affectionately looked at each other in the eyes. Takao gently cupped your cheek and the next thing you knew, his lips were tenderly pressed against your own. As you kissed, it felt like it was only you and him in your own world.
