The younger's uneven breathing didn't go by unnoticed but Taehyung just thought that he had scared the boy. A little confused he let go and distanced himself from the other a little before pointing on the old bench Jungkook was sitting on earlier.

"Sit down", he commanded calmly, but when Jungkook didn't move he raised his voice. "Now!"
the younger obeyed and quickly moved towards the boy that had warned him about a minute ago.

"I'm V. This is RM. But you might know me from school already", Taehyung started, following the younger with his eyes. When Jungkook nodded he proceeded to talk. "You know you shouldn't be here. This is no place to play around for naive kids like you."

"I'm not much younger than you are", Jungkook mumbled, looking down on his shoes. RM, who sat down next to the Maknae gasped at the reaction of Jungkook. He couldn't deny that the boy had guts and if he wouldn't have met him like this, they could've been good friends.

"Never talk back to me if I don't ask you for it", V hissed before taking another step into the direction of Jeongguk. The latter just nodded quickly before looking down again.

"What will I do with you. I obviously can't just let you walk around telling everyone about me being here. There's a reason why I don't use my real name when I'm not at school. Let's just say that there are people much worse than me in this neighbourhood."

Jungkook was afraid, really fucking afraid- but his mouth just started blurting out words that he shouldn't have said in this situation. "Then you might as well just kill me. If this place sucks so much it will happen one day anyways."

He could feel the sudden glare of RM who was completely shocked at the youngers words.
Even Taehyung was a little confused but much better at hiding it. "What makes you think I wouldn't do it?" "I don't. I really think you could kill me right here, right now. But I'm not afraid of it."

It wasn't the complete truth. Even though Jungkook wasn't afraid of dying, he certainly was terrified of what his death would do to his family and the two friends he found. So dying wasn't something he wanted to do right now.

And then he did something really bold. All of a sudden his body started moving towards the older who was looking at him with a look of confusion.
And then he walked past him, not without bumping their shoulders together, making Taehyung stumble back a little, before proceeding to walk out of the park to his house.

Then the boy realized what he had done.

Yeah, he was going to die and it was his fault- but he still felt proud of himself for doing what he had done. Stupid? Yes. Dangerous? Definitely. But also quite cool. It was the first time he had talked back to someone that threatened him, all the times his bullies exploited his innocence and he just stayed silent. If they could see him now. If he had been like this a few weeks ago...

"What the fuck?", RM mumbled, looking towards the younger of the two. "I don't even know. But that kid is dead", Taehuyng growled, slowly processing what just happened. "I like him. He seems cool. We need someone as tough as him-" Whilst saying that the elder realized that Taehyung was known as the tough one in the group. "not helping", he mumbled before chuckling.

"Just shut up, will ya?" "Alright. But don't forget why we met here in the first place."
Taehyung nodded and began searching something in his pockets, finally pulling out a small plastic bag and giving it to his friend.

"Is that all?" "Yeah, they only paid enough for this amount." "They won't be happy", the elder mumbled before putting the plastic bag in his own pocket. "Let them. I'm not afraid."
Taehyung never was. He didn't care if he got hurt or killed. There was no place for fear in his world at least not like that. He did fear for his friends' life, especially Suga's, but he tried his best to hide that fact.

"Of course you aren't. So are we going to bring him this tonight?" "Yeah, but please don't tell Suga Hyung, he had a hard couple of days and is still not the fittest so he would be a burden anyway."

RM nodded, he knew that that wasn't the only reason but he didn't want to annoy Taehyung more than he already was so he just stayed silent.

"Then I'll see you tonight at midnight I guess", with these words the elder left the park as well, leaving Taehyung alone.

"This fucker", he mumbled, thinking about the new kid in his class who really had the guts to act like that with him- and no matter how hard he tried hating the younger for that, he couldn't. A little part of him acknowledged him, respected him- and Kim Taehyung hated this little part of him a lot for that.
