***Jessie's P.O.V.***

Streaming rays of the sun peeped through the curtains and fell on my face which woke me up from my sweet and comforting sleep. As I yawned and glanced at my side table a small shiny gift box grabbed my attention.

Immediately I jumped from my sleeping position and without wasting anytime I unwrapped the gift. After opening the box I saw an extremely gorgeous bracelet with "best friend" inscribed on top of it.  By seeing the gift, I knew who gave it to me... It had to be Michael. He couldn't wish me last night for all those fusses so I guess he decided to surprise me with this cute gift. A smile appeared on my face seeing it.

My thoughts were interrupted as Kate came from the washroom.

"Oh, you are awake..." she said with a smile while approaching towards my bed.

"Happy birthday my new but dearest friend!" she wished while giving me a warm hug.

"Thank you sooo much." I replied with a big smile.

"By the way did you like my gift?" she asked pointing to the bracelet.

Wait...what? did she just say 'my gift'? I mean Kate bought this for me? not Michael? What was I thinking?

"Did you give it to me?" I asked in a confused state,  just to be sure as I was not able  to believe myself.

"Yah...please don't tell me you didn't like it. " she bit her lip.

" I liked.." Before I could finish, she started again: "Actually I bought this hurriedly this morning so I couldn't find a better one and...."

" Kate! Kate! Its amazing...I loved it." I cut her off.

"Pheww." Kate relaxed.

I couldn't believe Mike didn't give me any gift yet or at least wished me, even though he is my best friend. But at least Kate did wish me and also gave the cutest gift but look at me – I yet didn't invite her to the party. Oh silly me!!

"Anyways get ready or else we'll get late for the pool party." I informed her in order to invite her in an informal way as she said we are best friends from now on.

"Pool Party?" she asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Yes, sweetheart. Pool Party.. .after all it's my birthday today. And at night the main Birthday Party will be held." I said with a huge grin.

" Umm.. Jess please don't get upset but I don't think I'll be able to attend it." She replied hesitantly.

"But why?" I asked instantly.

 "Actually I'm not comfortable with the dress code...I don't wear swimsuits." She stated shyly.

"Oh, don't be panic about it..you can wear whatever you want, now just go and get ready." I told her with an assuring smile.

"Come on....shall we?" I asked again.

"Okay...but I am just wearing a simple one." she said hesitantly

"Urgh...fine let's go then." 

She was still standing there, thinking. "Kate....please get dressed up quickly." I requested.

She nervously took out her outfit and dressed in. "Thank you finally! you looking pretty btw." I winked.

"Oh stop it Jess." she bit her lip. " Okay now..shall we?" I pointed to the door.
